@Shubz, the video wasnt of much help -except for a few seconds at the start & a few more from 2:33. :(
Bajaj co-developed it. I'm sure they would have solved this already. My guess is that it may be detuned for our fuel. However, anything near 25bhp will help gain volumes for bajaj as most people only look at power figures, rather than power-to-weight.

Hopefully, they keep stuff from pulsar parts bin at a minimum.

810 mm. Source - Overdrive

Am looking forward for this one. If the final product is anywhere close to the R15 V2 in terms of fit and finish, this will be a perfect city bike.

Sorry about the video. Even I did not understand a thing besides a few words like "Grande" "Fantastica" etc. I was just too excited about its launch so posted it.

About fuels: I guess Speed is now 95RON and Speed 97 was just 2RON higher so actually not much required. Guess all of India switched to BS3 and BS4 back in 2010 so there goes all reasons for detuning by any new launch from any manufacturer. These specifications are the same as Euro 3 and Euro 4. How are the other bikes (ex: Ninja running on indian fuels?) I guess fuel should not be an issue.

Here is another..

Rumors Rumors everywhere! But nothing concrete. Though I am glad at point#2 - Would Bajaj not want its logo anywhere at all? with 40% stake in KTM?

Does anybody know what is the stake Kawasaki has in Bajaj or vice versa?

re: Scoop: KTM Duke 200 caught testing in India!

I have owned a Pulsar for 10 years now. Sold it recently. Was thinking of buying a RX or CBR250 from short rides.

This one will be a fantastic candidate in the list. Time to check out the pro-biking showroom.

re: Scoop: KTM Duke 200 caught testing in India!

One question if someone can help me.
Why did Bajaj put their engine in the KTM machine...Shouldnt they leave that engine untouched?

Read the so called review. There is hardly any information on the performance of the bike. Its like "The Making" of the Duke twins!

From what i could gather from the review, Bajaj is partnering in the engine department and Chassis etc is handled by KTM. Like this Bajaj is developing itself as well and ofcourse getting a brand setup in european market. Bajaj wouldnt want another partner who is selling their bikes here now, Would it?

re: Scoop: KTM Duke 200 caught testing in India!

Few more questions...
When I look at KTM compression it is 11.8:1...This means it can only take a Preium fuel of 95octane...Apart from big metros how many Indian cities have a 95octane pumping station and even if so I dont think every one of the station will carry this?

Is Bajaj making any effort to bring down the compression ratio or are they keeping it at the same level?

GC:
200 Duke (the website has listed at 170mm) Is this a bit on the higher side for an average Indian male riders? I'm not sure on what kind of GC does a local bike carries?

690 Duke (the website has listed at 192mm) I personally sat on a GS1200 (GC-185mm)...I'm 6'2" and I was comfortable with the GC but when I look at Duke @ 192mm for a 690 even I'm thinking what on earth or how will they market for shorter riders???

The KTM 200 will be, hopefully assembled in India and there will be a fair amount of localization too. *Fingers crossed* So not only should the KTM be more affordable, it should be able to made to adapt to Indian road conditions, and fuel quality.

And KTM generally build their bikes around motocross bikes (Save for the RC8), and such bikes usually have higher ground-clearance, since their designed to be ridden bonkers over rough surfaces.
