I had the privilege of visiting Mangesh last week for the detailing of my 2.5 year old Honda City.

I hadn't got much time to care for the City after coming to Mumbai from Chennai & that began to show on the car. That and the daily washing by the apartment boys meant the City began to look older than she was. With an intention to bring her back to her former glory, I turned to Team BHP for suggestions, which is when I found out about Max Shine (Thanks to all Team BHPians who've posted here before for such a good reference!)

Called Mangesh up on a Saturday, and scheduled the detailing on Sunday morning. Owing to an emergency at home, I couldn't make it at the time fixed, but Mangesh was gracious enough to accommodate me.

Learning I was a member of Team BHP, he and his boys took special care of my City.

Pros:
-Excellent Service
-Value for Money. I felt happy paying him that money (unlike 3M Car Care)
-Know about cars very well -
-Passion for detailing
-Attention to detail
-Special Attention to Team BHP members

Cons:
-Just 2 cars can fit in his current premises. (But he's opening up a new, larger, better equipped branch, just opposite to Viviana mall in August)

Highly recommended!

I missed the pre polishing part, as I had to go elsewhere. So, jumping ahead to the polishing stage.

Finally brought her home. Was praying that there be no rain. I actually called my wife down to show her how awesome the car had become. First time she didn't abuse me for "spending so much on a car".

Easy landmark for those coming in from Mumbai- It's right opposite to Viviana Mall. Take a U-turn below the Majiwada bridge and join the service road. The work shop will be to your left. The facade is very bright and the workshop is easily visible even from the highway.

So now about the new workshop:
1) Much much better and cleaner than than the old one and has a very good ambience
2) Very spacious and can handle two large sized and three small cars at once
3) Increased staff with two new professional detailers
4) Bright lighting and ample working space for handling the vehicles
5) Open working space and ample lighting ensure attention to detail
6) Personalized attention to vehicles by Mangesh, Tushar and their team
7) Website in the process of being updated to have online appointments (I particularly like this)

The new workshop looks spacious. Any information available on the detailing charges? The workshop has now moved even farther from my place but will be definitely trying it post monsoons.

Mangesh informed me that there might be a very nominal increase in the charges due to service tax(They are trying to incorporate that in the base amount so that we need not pay more) . Also they are introducing a new range of polishes . Even i am planning to visit him post monsoons.

Visited Max Shine yesterday after seeing this thread. Excellent service from the staff. I dropped the car at 9.30 am on Saturday for Interior,Exterior and Engine detailing. Work got completed at 2 pm and paid 3000 cash. I'm happy with the result and will definitely visit once in 6 months.

Result attached, for a 6 year old car, 50k done.

Got my SX4 & Honda City detailed 3 weeks back from Mangesh & Team.
His new outlet neat & well maintained!! Should surely bring him more footfalls. I met him after a gap of 3 years & I'm happy to see that same level of professionalism

You still have that SX4, I thought you must have got yourselves a swanking new SUV. What about the detailing for the Etios? Planned? Did you get the T-BHP discount from Mangesh?

Hi Girish!!
Yes I still have the SX4!! She's a workhorse,and absolutely reliable one at that. Currently at 92k kms! I sold off the Etios and the City is a recent addition. Got an automatic this time,else a day might come where I'll start limping rather than walking!!

It was time to give the Punto the TLC treatment and what better place than Mangesh's Max shine. Visited on 12th of this month after a prior appointment. The car was taken in at 9.30 am and Mangesh had assured me of the delivery by 2 pm. But I told him I would pick up by 5 pm (did not want to miss the afternoon siesta).
Let the pics to the talking. These are post the detailing done (internal + external).

After reading all the positive feedback here I took my decade old swift to Max Shine on Nov 5 and opted for the Max Shine special treatment which cost me 4k. Very happy with the outcome as the car looked almost as good as new both interior and exterior. Sorry no pics as it was late evening when I got the car back and had to rush for some personal work. Mangesh personally inspected the car before handing over it to me.

PS - On inquiring about any offers I was told that if we pay upfront for 3 detailing session we get one additional for free, the intervals can be decided by us.

Even I was told by Mangesh of the same offer. Would cost around 10K for 4 detailing session, once every 3 months. Wouldn't that be too much pampering?

Yes, too much of pampering , but I was told we can choose the intervals like once in 3 or 4 months, I was thinking of more like once in 6 months so 4 detailing sessions in 2 years.

By the way how come it came to around 10K? Was quoted 4K for one session of a hatchback, any more discounts you could squeeze out?

Surely the price quotes was for one year and not two years. Ideally you are paying for 3 sessions which comes to around 3.3K, add one sessions free. So total costs comes to around 2.5K for 3 months. Opting one would label you as a fanatic.

If you do individual session, it will cost you 4K. Mangesh is well aware of T-BHP and must have offered the discounts accordingly.

How much did you pay for the punto?

Ashishy a few posts earlier mentioned 3k and Lij says 4k. which one is it?

And this is interior+exterior+engine bay dressing right?
