You can not do anything about it. My cousin bought a Lci 320D M sport and the steering on that car is much lighter than my pre lci in comfort or sports. I guess its due to the newer rack in Lci's which was supposed to be faster and more accurate. Are you comparing your steering to the pre lci 320D?

Yes it does, i checked it again today when my friend was driving my car and it did flicker 5 times as i had programmed it.

Also, when you did the Digital speed in board computer coding (in Instrument Cluster) did the date, time and fuel consumption readings get reset to zero?
The date and time did get reset, am not sure about fuel efficiency. The brake pad counter did not increase/decrease, am sure about this one.

Yes, I'm comparing it with my pre LCI 320d. The issue is I don't feel it stiffening even when switching from Eco-Comfort-Sport modes. The ASS have asked me to bring it over to check what state the software is in. Will do that and update.

The accuracy and speed of the steering is up for sure compared to earlier. Variable Sport Steering may be a factor, but it is supposed to assist incrementally as the steering is turned more in situations like parking, not in straight line driving, but let me check at the ASS.

Is he right? Should I just get it recharged instead of getting a new one?
This is normal due to lesser usage in the current circumstances. I would recommend driving it more often, so that it returns to its previous health.

The BMW batteries easily last 7-8 years.

Hey guys - any recommendations on good ‘UNOFFICIAL’ garages in Mumbai??
My car is now 5 years old and out of warranty.
Navnit and infinity seem too busy and pricey now

I have heard good things about Redline Autohaus. No idea who the proprietor is, but people known to me have used their services and they seem to be satisfied with their work. You may want to give them a try.

I recommend Redline Autohaus whole-heartedly. It's my go-to garage for any work to be done. Quality of work is top-notch, albeit a bit slow at times since they're extremely popular among Mumbai car-owners, for better or worse.

Here's the address: Link.

Any similar garage in Pune too?
My X3 is still new but a good information doesn't hurt

Check out AJ Performance: Link (Performance tuning, servicing & repairs - AJ Performance, Pune)

I've never been there myself, but others I know of swear by it. Definitely worth exploratory conversations, at the very least.

Go for the Mechanix Automotive in Aundh. There is a separate thread on Team-BHP for their services.

re: BMW 320d & 328i (F30) : Official Review

I was looking to pickup a used 320d. I've zeroed in on a 2013 320d. 64k driven with complete BMW history. However I have a few queries. The key data has a few faults (Drive control, Headlight adjustment, speed limiter etc) logged about 500kms ago, but BMW guys say they're not an issue now since if they were, it would should current odo reading along with the faults. I've checked the functions related to the faults, and everything's working perfectly. The car drives perfectly well, I've touched triple digits as well. No errors on iDrive too. However, my chineese obd tool picked up a few error codes, I'm not too sure about these codes as it has picked up codes for modules which the car didn't even come with (like adaptive cruise etc). The car is with a BMW dealer itself and they're fairly confident about the car. I wanted to know if there's anyway iDrive can be fooled into thinking everything's alright or by tinkering with the wiring to make everything work without error on iDrive? Also, would key data store faults which are fixed too? Is it possible that maybe the battery might've died and the car showed these faults in the key data? I've always been a VW person, this would be my first BMW. So a bit worried if I'm missing something.

Yes, if the issues were current they would show up on idrive. I would recommend getting a good OBDtool such as Veepeak and the bimmerlink app to run diagnostics so see if any problems exist.

Is it possible to "disable" any modules to prevent them from throwing an error?

Also attaching the scan from the chineese OBD with bimmertool-lite app, I'm not sure if the tool failed to detect since it's a chineese knock off, or if there's an issue. Attaching screenshots below. Also notice that this car doesn't have Adaptive cruise, yet the tool not only detects the module, but also throws an error.

re: BMW 320d & 328i (F30) : Official Review

Can anyone help me here. I recently got all 4 tyres replaced by a bmw dealer. They also did the wheel alignment.

I am getting this thud thud sound like the wheel is hitting the arch when the steering is turned all the way to the right.

I sent it back to Bmw. They said it was the shock absorber rubber. They replaced it but now the sound is even louder.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it an alignment issue?

This is a problem I had with my car too. Easily fixable. It cost me 2K in parts from BMW and 500 in labour from my FNG.

Truth be told BMW wanted to change the entire steering rack that would have cost 2L. Once part was bought, swapped and fixed, I did have a very interesting conversation with the SA in BMW as to why a 3K fix needed a 2L steering rack swap.

BMW knows this problem and has made the part very cheap to buy and replace.
