Hi BHPians,

My baby is 13 days old and have crossed 750 kms in odo. I face some issue in front left suspension. Whenever I cross a speed breaker @ 20 kmph with pre-braking (applying brakes and releasing it before my front wheel hits speed breaker) I see my front left Tyre falls rough on to ground as if there is no suspension at all wherein my front right is smooth. But when I cross @ less than 20kmph I feel it's fine. Any suggestions.? It makes me worried.

Take it back to the showroom and have it checked, there must be something wrong, it's usually something simple like tightening of a nut or fixing a forgotten part. A stitch in time saves nine

Does any body know who would open the original lights and fit a full hid

He got it done from Mr.Srinivas Gopal, who is based out at vizag. His contact no. is 09849314812.Speak to him regarding this as you seem to have purchased a HID kit already. You have to send the headlamps through courier and he usually takes a week's time. :)

Nothing to worry about at all. It is normal and it's due to the stiffer suspension setup.

Basically you hear it only on the left because your weight loads the suspension on the right and it doesn't happen. The sound will disappear if you have a passenger sitting next to you.

Only solution is to drive a little slower over sharp bumps. The sound is of the wheels jumping suddenly. The issue is also seen in the Ford Figo and the reason is the stiff setup and higher rebound. That's the sacrifice for the handling.

If you take it to the workshop they will meddle with someone that doesn't need meddling.

I had observed something similar and the suspension donuts have really helped me.

Emulate the scenario with your servive manager and if it not possible to do that install the comfort buffer/donut.

What is this buffer / donut? Does it soften the suspension?

It's a spacer inserted between 2 coils of the springs. It reduces the spring travel under load. It may help to reduce the sound but you really don't need it.

Thanks guys, for all your valuable suggestions. I did visited service center this weekend and Service Advisor took a test drive on roads with more potholes, speed breakers. Thank god SA is more than 20 yrs experienced and he is there with Ford Dealership for more than 15 yrs.

Luckily we were able to recreate the scenario and SA confirmed that this is normal behavior due to rigid suspension and its not an issue. (During the test drive I was in co passenger seater and SA was driving) He assured me that there won't be any issue in future and said he will double check this during my First Free Service in 2500 Kms.

Hey RanjithRnair,

It was a real delight to see the tastefully done mods.
Great picturesclap:
It was like seeing my ecosport in white avatar.

I had called up Srinivas regarding my cousins ecosport and he quoted
"Doc , Ranjit and you have the highest level of passion in comparision to all the customers I have till date"

The motosport tyre valve caps look great and where did you procure the Osram T10.
Please do share the contact.

I am very glad that our (team bhp members) inputs were helpful:D

Thanks a lot doctor :) !
Whatever i felt is not up to the mark , the next day i see that you have done it the most preferred way , so it was indeed easy for me !
However there are a few more ideas which you could try lol:

Hi blacksport,

lol: I have both the civic and ecosport.

If you carefully see GTOs fantastic review it has all details.

The buffers/donuts can be installed in 3 positions in the coil springs

1.At the lowest point as I did on my ecosport:comes into play when suspension bottoms out (helps in prevention of thud sound in my ecosport)

2.In the middle:comes into play during halftime (so will help stiffen the suspension a bit)

3.At the top of coil spring:always in action (nicely stiffens the suspension and solves the rear soft suspension problem in my civic)

I am attaching the picture of my ecosports buffer, my civic has it on top so one cannot see it
Hope it helps

Good to see all fellow Bhpians with all these mods and ecosport rules has created the benchmark for the same.
Please inform how to procure these coil springs and how to go about installing it because the suspension is really stiff. Do they do it in the Ford dealership?
