Re: Mahindra KUV100 : Official Review

Hello kuv100 nxt owners,
I am planning to buy a pre-owned / used kuv100 nxt (2018) model instead of tiago nrg.
My need is following;
1. Safe and relaible cross-hatch.
2. Reasonably fuel efficient and comfortable on long drives for 3 people (with ISOFIX)
3. My driving would be 40% city, 40% highway, and 20% bad roads like north sikkim or spiti valley.

Do you think preferring monocque chassis with 170mm GC is better than 180mm GC of tiago nrg?

Re: Mahindra KUV100 : Official Review

So I went to a Mahindra dealerships yesterday, just to check what discounts they are having, and I was surprised to know that the Kuv100 nxt has been discontinued in both petrol and diesel. All available stocks are cleared and now this model will come in EV version. This information was provided by a dealer here in Ahmedabad.
I knew about diesel being discontinued, but petrol also!!?
Now what do I do? Is kuv100 nxt still a good buy? Should I go for petrol or diesel?

Will suggest you to avoid the KUV and now that it is discontinued, it makes more sense to remove it from your potential list.

Please go through our brilliant What Car section. You should come across something close to KUV which would fulfill your requirements.

In case you don't come across anything viable, you may start a new thread, but I am sure, our search feature will help you find what you are looking for.

Another helpful link.

2020 Mahindra KUV100 BS6 CNG spied on test – Launch soon

Mahindra KUV100 : Official Review-mahindrakuv100bs6cngspiedlaunch3.jpg

Quote:
Now, automotive enthusiast Athavan has spotted a test mule of a BS6-compliant Mahindra KUV100 with a ‘CNG’ sticker. The test mule seems to be based on a lower-end variant of the regular KUV100. It featured steel rims and non-body coloured door handles.

Mahindra is expected to continue with the same mFalcon 1.2 litre petrol motor on the BS6-compliant KUV100 CNG variant. The engine currently dishes out 82bhp and 115Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed MT which sends power to the front wheels. The ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of the current combination is 18.15 km/kg. We don’t expect a major change in any of these figures post the BS6 update.

Re: Mahindra KUV100 : Official Review

A steady light has come on in the dashboard which says 'ENGINE!' in yellow. is this a service reminder?

Having lived in Mussoorie (Uttarakhand) and now Manali (Himachal Pradesh) and having driven cars like Nano (180mm Ground Clearance) and Triber (182mm Ground Clearance), I can safely say that if you want to drive to the Himalayas in your next car, every mm of Ground Clearance is a good advantage, as people scrape their car bottoms especially after landslides are cleared on these roads when the passes are open for the far flung regions. And I have managed to bottom out both of my cars in these regions with these high clearances and monocoque construction bodies.

Tiago NRG is based on the Tiago, so is a good, safe and rigid structured car (Global NCAP rating of 4), yes it misses out on the ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, but has the all around cladding and looks much better (my personal preference) when compared to the KUV100.

Also, why not the Ignis, for a near similar price of KUV100, it has better looks, 4 cylinder engine, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts and other bells and whistles along with the service and parts availability all throughout the country, including the Ladakh region, which you want to explore. (We have owned Baleno hatch and WagonR, but I personally am not fan of Maruti Suzuki tin cans, not that my Nano was any better, but I hope the Triber is!).

Re: Mahindra KUV100 : Official Review

So, the BS6 KUV100 has officially been launched at Rs.5.5 Lakh in 6 seater (K2+, K4+ and K6+ variants) and 8 seater (K8 variant)! Where the hell did they put those 2 extra seats, in the boot? Or have the changed the rear seats to Thar style sideways facing seats to achieve this?

Anyways, attaching the new price list screenshot and new brochure (which still has mention of 5 seater variants, dumb editors!) below.
