Agree, it is looking real ugly, completely spoiling the clean look of the dashboard.
I don't understand why and who takes such decisions.
If there is enough demand, why can't Tata provide their Harman system in XE variant. How much the Harman system with four speakers would be costing?

I checked the Grey color myself and i really liked it personally but as i mentioned in previous posts Grey is a dirt and dust magnet, no matter how much you clean the car the color will still attract dust which will be more visible on this color compared to others. Also i feel the black body cladding along the sides as well as rear will not be more pronounced to give it a SUV stance due to darker shade of Grey used on the Nexon body. To make it even more difficult for me the white ceramic at the rear looks in your face type on this color. Would you mind sharing some exterior pics of your Nexon from different angels so that it gives me a better idea before i choose the color. These are my personal views so far about the Grey color though many might not agree with me.:thumbs up

If you could just scroll back, I have shared the pics taken on the delivery day.:)

Same fate awaits anyone who is not happy with the stock audio system. Thankfully, that percentage would be very very less thanks to the excellent Harman based system on the other models.

Big thanks to one of my birdies for sending this information in!

Tata Motors is reportedly gearing up to provide an optional 1-DIN Blaupunkt music system for the Nexon XE (base) variant as an OEM accessory/fitment. The XE variant was not offered with an infotainment system since the Nexon's launch.

While the BT-equipped system will be priced at Rs 15,999/-, the non-BT music system will be priced at Rs 12,317/-, both including GST.

Thanks for the scoop RavenAvi. I have to admit that this head unit looks like a after market fitment. If I were buying this variant, I would get the music system fitted outside which will be cheaper. About the warranty being void, I think TATA are not very strict when it comes to aftermarket accessories.

Thanks a lot for the link. I did see the pics last time around when you took the delivery but wasn't aware it was your car. The car does look nice as i already said but then again the black cladding all around does not look too prominent to give t a SUV stance. Plus the white strip looks a bit too striking and flashy at the rear to put off a few. Also i feel this color does not accentuate all the colors truly due to its dark shade. Since you liked it more so i cant complain much. These are the only points which are putting me off from choosing this color. To make it even more difficult for me the dust and dirt will be more visible on this color. Preferences may not be similar with all always so what i may not be liking could be a plus for you. Congratulations anyway for getting a Nexon and lets hope i can decide the color soon so that i become a proud owner of a Nexon myself. Cheers and safe driving.

I will reply with point by point, as it will be easier to read too.

Personally I feel, the black cladding does a practical job rather than act as an SUV highlighter.
In most cases, there wont be any plastic cladding in the wheel arches of most practical SUVs (eg is the new endeavour, fortuner,Isuzu muX, duster etc).

But it does play a crucial role in making a car (in our case mini SUVs like Nexon, small cars like Kwid etc) look like it can do much more than what its built for.

So I wont put my mind elsewhere just because you can't see this black cladding in grey color. :)

Yes, I agree. But after sometime, you will start to like it.
I am talking about my case only. First I had plans of putting a 3M wrapper over the white X at back. But now after a month of seeing my car daily, I kind of like it. It tends to grow on you.

I didn't get this point though.

Personally, an SUV looks super cool in dark shades. If you are not convinced, just search the google for black pictures of ones that are available here (like endeavor, fortuner, muX etc) and compare the black color of those with other colors. You will get what I am referring to.

True, true and true. I wholeheartedly agree with you on this. And except for washing and waxing the car once in 2 weeks and cleaning it daily (or once in 2 days) using a microfiber cloth, there is nothing we can do about it.

Then there are my friends who suggests, a little or more dust will make my car (aka SUV) look more macho.:uncontrol

I am waiting to see your car delivery pics too. Hopefully Grey or the color you liked very much.

Hello Experts,
I am currently inclined towards Nexon being SUVish and a strong diesel. But as i was also looking for an AT diesel, I shortlisted Verna AT diesel. But haven't closed the deal yet. Which one do you think is a wise choice considering daily run of 70-80kms.

Have both ! but you would need to wait a bit more. The Nexon AMT is in the pipeline, and is said to be good.

Btw, I have driven the Creta on a couple of highway trips. It pulls well, but the Nexon's excellent torque means that is not that behind. The main points as I see - if you can wait, and/or the price difference.

I am no expert. Both are good choices. Though I vote for hyundai 1.6 crdi engine anyday. You need to decide between suv and sedan. Also on your requirement to go for automatic.

I would suggest Nexon . Its torque is good for its size. The fit and finish is pretty decent for the price offering and more over the entire package feels like a tank. Hyundai CRDI is good, but the service costs sucks almost INR 15K to 18K every service :Frustrati. Hence the shift from Hyundai to Tata and Mahindra.

Guys talking about service, any Nexon owner would like shed some light on this? How is TATA doing in after sales service and usual service cost comparison?
Would help the prospective Nexon buyers (like me) :)

I got the first service done at Venkataramana Motors, Gachi Bowli, Hyderabad. The service quality itself was good although there is nothing much to be done in the first service. The vehicle was delivered on time. The waiting lounge is smallish, but passable. The service center is also smallish and there is not enough room to park cars. After the service and final wash, when I went to collect my car, it was parked on the road outside the main gate. It had already collected a clearly noticeable film of dust.

I have one more major grouse. I had 3M Nomad mats in my car. In addition to the full floor custom cut matting, 3M also gave small additional mats for the driver and front passenger. Someone in the service centre stole this small mat from the front passenger side. When I asked about it, the service manager asked the technicians but couldn't find it. He promised me that he would find it, or else buy a small mat from 3M and give it to me. Despite multiple phone calls, they neither located my mat nor provided a replacement.

Even at the time of delivery, there were dirty smudge marks on the interior roof lining above the doors and also somebody's foot print on the rear AC blower. I had to return the car for cleaning. I didn't mention this in my delivery post on this thread because this is the first time I had such an experience with a Tata dealer. This is the fourth Tata car in my family. I thought this may be a one off mishap (I gave them the benefit of the doubt).
No one from Tata called me to take my feedback on the delivery experience.

Now after this incident during first service, I am done with Venkataramana, I am never going back to them.

All our previous service experiences with Tata service centers were excellent. I was never overcharged and the service was always upto the mark. The cost of ownership of my Zest was far less compared to the cost of ownership of my friend and neighbor's Xcent. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the elaborated reply to all my points brother. I think i might be going with either Blue dual tone or Red dual tone but unfortunately right now no Tata dealer in our city has the Red dual tone color available for display so i am waiting if i get lucky with that color in coming days. Want to check the car physically once just to see if this color is worth buying. All i want is a color which is neither over the top and too flashy nor too plane and subtle either. Cheers and safe driving.

The Harmon Kardon system is great but could do with a little punch - especially in the mids. Nexon being under 4 metre, every inch counts, so wanted to avoid a full-blown sub-woofer in the boot. As luck would have it, my brother who works with Pioneer - Glasgow, gifted me a 2018 Active-Sub, fresh off their development line. I was more than happy to be his guinea pig.

This can be mounted vertically in the boot or horizontally under the seat. EB Bass, the Bangalore based Audio Specialists, installed the super compact sub under the seat - today. Looks awesome and performs like a charm! The tiny nook near the handbrake fit the gain control module like a glove (No, doesn't foul with the hand brake). Have a look!

Are you kidding me? Really 15k to 18k for 1 service. Is it a regular service cost or does it include non regular repairs?
