The Elevate is the second honda in the house, the first was the brio. 12 years of hassle free ownership.
That was the only reason why we got the Elevate.
You are correct - the elevate from a build quality isnt as good as the earlier Hondas.
For the outside noise, I installed sound damping in all the 4 doors (not in the bonnet).
the sound damping has helped in the following.
1. Sound insulation. I can guess there is a 50% reduction in noise. And I have done single sound insulation, if you do double insultation - the result will be better.
2. Better Sound: The stock sound system sounds so much better after the damping.
3. The 'Thud': the doors now close with a resounding thud, and not clank - we are used to with the elevate.

I am getting 7KMPL, 8 at best in city conditions (mumbai traffic) with AC On
around 10 KMPL in City (without traffic)
and 13 at best 14 KMPL Highway (on my drives to lonavala).
p.s: this is my first automatic car, and maybe i am missing a trick. is there a way to get more FE out of this engine?

Hi,
I do not think it has to do with a trick but its more about traffic levels. I have seen minimum of 9kmpl while I was doing a lot of short runs (i.e. 4-5 kms per day)/ heavy traffic. But usually it has always been over 10. Maybe it has to do something with Mumbai traffic level. I could not yet relate my mileage with AC as its always ON. But here are a few things that I started following as soon as I bought a CVT -
- No hard accelerations / braking - this was a large shift from my earlier driving pattern but I think it helped.
- Putting the car in neutral at every signal / stoppage - Helps reduce unnecessary RPM > 1k while idling.
- Compulsorily idling every day before cold start - Not sure if it makes a difference on daily mileage in city but I do follow this.
- Dynamic usage of Adaptive Cruise control - depending on nature of traffic and terrain. ACC works at better efficiency with less traffic for sure but you can combine ACC with manual acceleration for better FE.

Get the sound damping installed in all 4 doors simple.
You can do double sound damping in the 4 doors for better effect
For the floors, I've done lamination and good quality mats
Do not do sound damping in the bonnet, it works against heat dissipation.

Anyone noticed that there is a price correction on the ZX-R CVT...
There is no price gap between ZX-R CVT and ZX CVT.
Does anyone know the realistic discount for ZX-CVT if any color were to be found?
My car is due for its second paid service (1 year or 10k KMs) next week. I've got two questions:
- I want to upgrade the windshield wiper blades. I see streak marks being left behind. Should I just change the rubber blades or upgrade the entire assembly to something like Bosch Clear Advantage (https://amzn.in/d/0uDKeOq)? I am unable to find the specifications (length) of the wiper blades in the user manual PDF. Does anyone know this?
- Should I get wheel re-alignment and rotation done from the Honda service center or from a third-party tyre shop? I have not done wheel re-balancing after fitting the external TPMS. Odometer is currently at 7400 km, so maybe wheel rotation makes more sense at 10000 km?

You are better off doing a windshield wiper from bosch yourself. These replacements take few mins and i personally get the feeling that doing these keeps me connected to the car :)
Wheel alignment: Do it from a reliable thirdparty. You will save a lot on cost and are atleast equally effective as well. [I used to do this at dealerships befgore i switched to outside once a year and never had any issues

Am having 2011 Jazz X that is running quite well. Have made no major replacements. Recently, on a short drive on a highway, gave me about 20.00 kms. to a litre - and was surprised as I saw this after a long time. However, am also in the same situation. Been seeing few vehicles. But not come to any conclusion as to which one should it be as a replacement.
The thing is after getting used to the fit and finish of Jazz, others seem to be paling in comparison. Starting from the height adjustment lever onwards. Only Kushaq it was reasonably good to hold while doing height adjustment. But in Brezza or in New Magnite, I felt that the lever would fold in my hands. And so the story goes.
To any past Jazz-to- Elevate owners,.do you miss the magic seats? Wonder why they didn’t include it. No one else has it, and it offers so many options for storage.

We exchanged a 2012 Jazz for the Elevate. Frankly, the Magic seats were useful while we had our Retriever who loved the extra space, and the odd occasion when we had to give a dining table for polishing or squeezing an extra cycle or the odd garden pot shopping. Now with Porter and several other on-hire options, we'd rarely fold the seats.
The Elevate seats fold 60:40 and the only drawback is that they don't fold completely flat. But given the enormous boot, we really fold only on airport runs.
The Elevate is really a Jazz on struts. Some plastic quality, door damping and CVT are the only differences in regular usage!

A hybrid Elevate is EXACTLY what Honda needs to bring in ASAP to India!

I don't think Honda will bring the hybrid to India as their PHEV has not done much for City here (Honda should have localized this tech to reduce the costs but like in the past they missed the opportunity) and they have already mentioned about Elevate EV which they might launch in 2026(would most likely be delayed, if it comes)
Ideally Honda should have kept variants of Hybrid PHEV Elevate as well at the time of launch since it shares the platform with City but not to be and nobody knows why.

We are looking to get the Elevate VX CVT for my Father-in-law... What's the expected price for this variant in Bangalore?
The dealership is not ready to go below 18.5L, I strongly feel this price is too steep for what Elevate offers.
Is this really the best price I can expect for Elevate? Would love to hear some thoughts on this.

What is all covered in 18.5L ? depends on that. In general negotiate on ex-showroom cost only. TCS & RTO - % of ex showroom. Leave out insurance, accessories. Negotiate out the handling charges.
