Their domestic performance is bad however the exports have resulted in Honda Cars India being profitable. |
This is gradually becoming tougher as adverse market conditions set in. Honda has made many strategic errors in India leading to contraction of market share.
They still deserve to be profitable. Further, the Indian consumer benefits from access to their (limited range of) word-class products.
Hi,
I have a V CVT, Dec'23 model. Clocked 10,000 kms. FE hovers between 9 to 13 with 95% city driving and an average speed of 30-40 kms. Wanted to know if Honda is offering any interior upgrades like seat covers, roof rails etc. Not keen on getting it done from after market. And I need a dash cam. Budget is max 30k for dash cam.

Also, impressively, Honda has managed to grab all five stars for the Elevate (W-RV in Japan) in the recent JNCAP safety rating! I wish they'd submit for a BNCAP rating here. |
JNCAP is tougher than BNCAP so theoretically Elevate should get 5 Stars in India. I agree- wonder what's taking so long. This would 'elevate' their sales.

The reviewer in this video says that the vehicle has been sent for BNCAP. Not sure if this is TRUE...

These 6 Made-In-India Cars Are Making Waves Globally With Strong Sales
Quoting from the article
A prime example is the Honda Elevate, which was launched in September 2023 with high expectations from India’s growing SUV market. Despite an initial ramp-up in production, domestic sales underwhelmed, prompting Honda to target international markets such as Japan, where the Elevate is sold as the WR-V.

Significant thing is the 360 Degree camera that has been mentioned. Need to check with HONDA if that is something that can be made available to the existing cars on the road.

What is, is a new and larger 9-inch infotainment screen (when compared to 8-inch unit on V trim) that now supports a 360-degree camera, a first for any new Honda vehicle currently on sale today.
|
WOW! this is really interesting. Need to check this.:Cheering:

I did check with the Sales consultant from the dealer where I bought my vehicle. He says its been accidentally inserted by a dealer who advertised and there is no clarity on whether it will be available for existing cars.
Have asked him to get back once he gets clarity.

This car is not going to sell as Honda has forgot to work on basics. Cruise control- The biggest missing feature in V and VX variants. Even 2014 City V had that feature!

I admit it. Even I too own the same variant City and its shocking to know that Honda hasn't added this feature in the Elevate V and VX variants.
BTW, weren't you looking to buy a new car to complement along with the Hycross? Which car did you finalize BTW?

My preferences are simple. Sadly, no car maker is able to fulfil my requirements. Only Toyota Hycross VX did so far. (so I bought it immediately at launch price 2 yrs back). For my second car, I am still driving elite i20 MT and I am extremely satisfied with it. However, my search for a second car is still ongoing as I need a car which is PURELY AUTOMATIC (AT, DCT or CVT) without sunroof and with cruise control, rear defoggers, rear armrest and rear camera. No car except Nexon fulfills that requirement of mine however I do not want to buy TATA or Mahindra car as there are huge aftersales concerns in my city.
Recently, few days back, updated GRAND VITARA and HYRYDER 2025 were launched with all bells and whistles without sunroof but they removed the spare wheel from all new 2025 variants which is a basic requirement for any car. So, I crossed these 2 cars also.
I made my mind to buy a SKODA KUSHAQ but when I went to buy that car, the company discontinued the relevant variant which used to come without sunroof and that had all these basic features.
Currently, I have shortlisted many Automatic Petrol Mid Size SUVs to my likings - CRETA S (O) IVT, VENUE N LINE N6, KIA SYROS DCT, KUSHAQ and TAIGUN DCT 1.0/1.5 )
But all of these cars have a sunroof which is a big NO for me).
Hence, none of the cars available in India are to my specific needs. I know it's a rare case. :)
There is no proper 5-seater Automatic Midsize SUV in Indian Market which comes without Sunroof. I am still waiting for a company to launch such a car. :)

Sadly, one has to let go of this requirement as you find each and every car is equipped with sunroof, which our Indians are obsessed with.
And, speaking of ourselves, we too never owned a car with sunroof and I don't think we'd ever get one though I still wanted to have one.
BTW, why not check the Skoda Kylaq Signature+ AT, which has everything except for sunroof, which is a plus for you and heard that its performance is much better than Kushaq/Taigun despite engine being same.
Another option would be City V CVT if you are okay with sedans and doesn't have sunroof.
And, another option I'd suggest you is to look at the MG Windsor LR variant, which was launched recently and gives 400 Kms of range, only if you are okay with getting an EV.
Even few variants in Creta Electric 42kw come without sunroof.

Hi
A friend of mine was looking at similar class of SUV and had strong non-preference for Sunroof. He ended up buying Jeep Compass. Not sure if you had a look at this option. It was a few years back so not sure if Jeep Compass is in same pricing range as SUV's you are looking for or currently offers the other features that you require. Good luck.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately this use-case is diminishing. Most customers want the sun/moon roof. Those who don't are forced to compromise. I still can't understand how adding this variant will increase complexity of manufacturing & selling process.
