Thanks for the wishes, Rahul.

Sushil has restored his Bajaj 150 Brilliantly. Even i was glued to his thread

For mine, hope the final product will meet the expectations. But some of the orignal stuff is missing from my scooter for e.g. the Fuel Tank. The previous owner has changed the Fuel tank to the newer ones, to accommodate the Single Seat Configuration.

But Lets hope, i can restore it close to the original machine.

Re: Bitten by the Scooter Bug: My 1964 - Vespa 150

Update: The work is going on a VERY Slow Pace. As the Painter is recovering from fever. He was today also scraping the Paint which was left over.

Tomorrow, hopefully we will give a coat of Zinc Oxide and leave it for a day, and then from Monday onwards the Putty Work Starts.

Thought of utilising the time, when there was no work happening. Bought the following:

1. Front Brake Drum.
2. Front Brake Shoes.
3. Handle Cone Set Both.
4. Petrol Tank Beading.
5. Miscellaneous Rubber Parts.
6. Front Fork Cover (Metallic).
7. Headlight Assembly (Chrome).
8. Vespa Badges, i was surprised to find them in Mumbai .
9. Engine Side Panel Jaali.
10. Light for the Handle, just above the Speedometer. Though the light is not original, i liked it and bought. Still waiting for the Original Light.
11. Cylinder Cover (Plastic).

Now, Pciture Time. Sorry for the Pciture Quality, i clicked it from my Phone Camera & the light was VERY LOW.

Good to see you've bought most of the parts. Any luck with the original tail-lamp yet?

The side-panel jaali isnt original with respect to Vespas and IMHO would mar the looks of your scoot when done! Better not fitted.

The horn grille in your pic. isnt original either. Vespas came with one that looked like this:

And another one, which I'm not sure about, seen only on Vespas around here so far:

I understand. 'was suggesting that its just enough if non-original ones (like that jaali) are not fitted atleast!

Appreciated!

Well, I'm not sure if there are any period engine panel jaalis available, I think I've seen a few scooters in Hyd. with some chrome/s.steel jaalis but they seem to have been custom-made/fabricated.

In any case, Vespas originally never came with any Panel jaali either, so better leave it that way.

Thanks Buddy..!!

Yes, some serious searching for the parts this weekend resulted in this. Still, i am unable to get the Brake Light Switch. The Spare Parts wala has promised to get it for me by Tuesday.

Regarding the paint scheme, i will be going ahead with a single color scheme. The Color wouild be very much similar to the Original "Pepper White" shade which came with the scooter. It may not be an exact match though.

Re: Bitten by the Scooter Bug: My 1964 - Vespa 150

Ask your mechanic to remove the break pedal which can be sent for buffing, and also remove the rear shock absorber. I am curious to know how your denter is going to deal with those rust pockets on the horn cast? please post pics if possible.
