Waiting and holding my breath. Beautifully introduced. Though I had the privilege of a "preview" of sorts on the WA, the beauty of the car just hit me squarely now with the lovely pictures you have posted here.
Fantastic write up on Mr. Raman as well.
See you soon !!!
Best Regards & Drive Safe
Ram
Congrats KPS and thanks for sharing the complete history of the car and the amazing owner(s). I haven't read through the whole thread but the pictures were with a thousand words. Hooked onto this thread now.
Congratulations again!
KPS congratulations. I am at a loss for words as I grapple with kilo joules of envy. Thank you for so graciously narrating the history and contribution of the previous owners and giving them due credit. Please post lots of photographs of this beauty.
Hearty congratulations KPS. I remember meeting Mr Raman and his sister when they drove down to Hyderbad for the event. True and sincere enthusiasts and very passionate about vintages , both of them. Well, the car needn't be talked about more here as you have chronicled every bit of information and detail. Hats off to the earlier owners for not just keeping such a wonderful car in an excellent condition and also making sure it goes to an equally passionate and caring home. CONGRATULATIONS.
Congratulations KPS !!!. All the very best with your Daimler. She looks in great shape.

Thanks Kartik. Could not hoped for a better British marque. The car will be shortly going for a full mechanical check and minor restoration.

History of the cars and the previous owners are an very important aspect of this hobby. My Plymouth, Dodge and Daimler, all have well documented history.

Congratulations KPS. T While parting with the Dodge must have been hard, it is for a genuine upgrade in car and is testimony to your and your father's mantra of two cars at a time. A great home for a great car. Hat tip to Mr Sripathi for his involvement in the process. |
Thank vanam. Selling the Dodge was a difficult decision, considering our family connect with the car. As you rightly said, the Daimler is a great upgrade. Sripathi is part of the extended family and he shares a personal relationship with all the members at home. Our well wisher, we cannot thank him enough.

I know that car well! If I am right it might come via Hyderabad
Looks like it is a real 'time capsule ' example.great survivor car
From the old type number plates, it seems the car was underwraps even before 2002
From One great enthusiast to another what else could a car want and of course the owner. All the best and hope to see the car up and running around soon.

The owner and me checked out the car yesterday. She is going to be a beauty. Restoration is fantastic and is likely to finish early. Hence in all probability will come to Bangalore/Mysore first.

Yes Ajay, this is indeed a time capsule, as can be seen in the pictures below
Even after the 59 years the matching original key. When I noticed the same, it got me super excited
Some of my favourite angles
The fluted grill is a highlight. Original chrome is outstanding
Love the lights combination
All Lucas "King of the Road" lights
Low mileage car indeed. Clock will need repair
The dash
Sunroof slides well
Roof lining is in great shape
Original leather at the rear seat
Cheers

Hi KPS,
I have read your thread two times, over the past 2 days. The background you have provided to the car, specifically about the Late Mr. Raman, clearly shows the respect you have for him and the car. The car clearly deserves someone like you, as much as you deserve it! I wish you a lifetime of wonderful times with the car.
Today when I logged onto TBHP, I wanted to request you to send a few pictures of the interior of the car. :) Your latest update had all that I was hoping to see.
Will very closely follow this thread. Well done and congratulations!
Praveen
P.S On a related (car upgrade) topic, I sold my 1960 Fiat Select and picked up a 1951 Morris Minor Series MM!
