Supercars you mean to say the car was in asthar right, it was a 911 and around 1970's, with no seats or any other meters right, LHD. in what looks like a factory compound in andheri.

thank god you missed the 944 liv2drv.
you might want to check with the porsche showroom. they had a 911 targa of the 80's for sale. there was also a 1984 911 convertible that was shown to me at the bentley showroom. there was another 924 or a 944 that needed work, it has slipped my mind now will find out and let you know. these cars are in delhi.
in bom there was a 76/78 model 911 that needed complete restoration. i dont know where the car went but will find out.

If i recognised it right, saw a Porsche 928 a few years back in chennai, silver if i have remembered it right ;-)! Seemed to me like the condition was average and had been taken out after a long haul in a carpark.

Classic snaps!
The '80 930 Targa looks super! Love the shade. Same goes for the lovely red 944 S2 Cabriolet!

Classic PORSCHES

Lately PORSCHE has been doing pretty well in India.A LOT of 911s and Cayennes and soon MAYBE the Panamera (its UGLY) are coming out on the streets.Though not here in Kolkata.I have yet to see one here.
Today's PORSCHEs are the best SportsCars on the Roads. They are'nt flashy like a Ferrari or Flamboyant like a Lamborghini. They please the eyes and they have a Relaxed Look to them (but you can always almost see the tail wagging to have fun). When You drive them you feel confident and relaxed and you don't feel the STARE. But when you drive a Ferrari or Lambo you know there are People Staring at you and you feel a bit to FLASHY.
But that does not happen with a PORSCHE.Yes ,people will look at you when you drive one.But its not the same STARE that you'd get if you were driving a Ferrari or Lambo.
And the best thing is you can use it EVERYDAY.I love PORSCHE.

Now ,we car lovers are a mixed breed. Some of us love the Old-School Cars and Some like the ease of a Modern car. But Ultimately ,if you're a true car lover, Old-School is the BEST.The feeling you get when driving a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 is so MUCH BETTER than driving the latest 911 Turbo.(And that goes for all Vintage and Classics.)

Don't get me Wrong here ,I like the new Turbo a lot.But its a CONTROLLED driving. You have computers controlling everything. BUt Imagine driving the 1973 Porsche. You become ONE with the car.You know the car and YOU HAVE CONTROL.The same Goes for all Classic Porsches.Imagine driving one of the '60s or '70s or early '80s Porsches. You will Have so much more FUN.

So Guys come on over and Share your Views on Classic PORSCHES and not just the 911 include the 550 , 356 and the rare stuff or whatever you know of.Tell us if you've had an experience with any CLASSIC Porsches.Share your stories and photos if you have them.
