Dharamendra's VW Porsche 914 made an appearance in the blockbuster Dream Girl. Caught this last night.

If I am not mistaken this is ex Sameer Kadam, now with Eapen Varghese right? She is being worked on by the same person who worked on my Ponton. Was in a very very bad state. Even the bonnet was missing.

Indeed this is the ex-Sameer car. She was lying in Marol in a workshop and then sold to a Parsi gent at Bandra. There she was rotting and then suddenly shifted to Khandala. These shifts and dismantling at various places have done no good to the car at all. Probably the only 914 in India, have not seen another.

Cheers harit

I was watching Discovery Turbo - Chasing Classic Cars and the program covered a 1965 Porsche. On of the identification was that the horn grill had 4 screws. The car in picture shows that the horn grill has 2 screws (visible on the right), hence this a later model. The wheel rims would have the year, but this car seems to have alloys.

Cheers

Re: Classic Porsches in India

Wouldn't the Horn grill be covered in general . This could be even earlier . We need to check for sure

Cheers

Re: Classic Porsches in India

There used to be a red 944 parked at a petrol-station in Kurla, Mumbai in 1990s, wonder where it is now.
That petrol bunk recently had a blue Pontiac firebird as well but that too seems to have vanished.

That looks like a Porsche 911T. Great find!

The 911T was introduced to the public in 1967 and was in production for a couple of years. It was shortly replaced by the 911E and the 911S. Fuel-injection being one of the biggest changes. One can differentiate the T from the E and S by looking at the front bumper. The full chrome-strip is replaced with a rubber-strip lined with chrome, not to mention the two extensions mounted on the strip.

Re: Classic Porsches in India

Here is the ex Dharmendra 914, now bodywork completed and getting ready for paint. You have to actually see the car to believe the level of finish. Incidentally the same workshop is working on my fantabulus body and paint job.
