Polly,

Congratulations on a fantastic job!

I have been a little late in accessing your pictures- though your Land Rover has been in my thoughts through last week's travel

Very good finished product, I must say.

Is the snorkel functional? What about the antenna in the back... have you connected it to a radio? I like the chequered plates, need to get the same done on mine too... you should shoot a video & post it for us to hear the sound as well... make it more exciting for all...

Wish you the very best. Enjoy your ride... what next, are you planning your next project here on?

Cheers,
Abhishek

thanx Abhishek, yes the snorkel is fully functional only thing is to hook it up to the oil bath filter inside when needed., next project ??? well i want to get back to my day job first !!!!!!! then my painting, then my book on "the Spitfire in India", the my model making then we ll see, if a sufficiently exciting and affordable project comes along and i have garage space, (probably Tonrag will help me out there) ?? Or i sell this one off to afford the next one who knows ?? Never thought six months back that i would even do this one. Its my first one btw, planned to take 1 1/2 months (foolishly) but took 3 months of afternoons and every sat sun in between and almost 12000/- bucks of fuel to drive up and down !! Lots of screaming and threatening and cajoling too, goes with the territory i guess.
Still a few minor details left like this switch label extremely rare to get now even the UK, just found this one, will have to fabricate the other two i guess.

Polly,

You really have achieved something here! Your S2a is absolutely outstanding. The time you have devoted to it can clearly be seen. It's a very high level quality of the restoration.

I wanted also to thank you for sharing your experience with us and for giving me a lot of advices for the restoration of my Series 3.

Take care and enjoy Land Rover ownership.

Re: Restoring A Series 2a 1969 8' Land Rover

Nice looking car Polly sir, I always liked this particular model of Amby or Morris oxford whatever you call. There is one rotting at the local garage near my place which is very much in restorable condition, don't know if it is for sale or still in the clutches of the owner.

Re: Restoring A Series 2a 1969 8' Land Rover

What an amazing restoration. I have seen a similar Landrover near my office in Gurgaon on many occasions and have been intrigued. IMHO, old British iron rules !!
