Pavan, 'hope you didnt mind me "tampering" with your pics.
But for a clearer reference, here is the part I was referring to above:

Also you'll forgive my "prodding" but one more question- I recall you mentioning that the body would be taken off the chassis and the latter worked upon prior to painting. But in your last post you've mentioned that the tinkering is all done and the car ready for painting- so has the chassis been worked on already? If so, any pics.?

Sir, we have new bumper guards for this car, hence the existing one is sprayed with primer.

Complete body tapping done

No more tinkering now, happy to have found an extremely efficient and effective tinker.

Presently procuring some missing parts, like

1) Radiator --- Done
2) Clutch cylinder at the gear box ---- Part Awaited
3) Fuel lines --- Done
4) Ignition coil --- Done
5) Installing an alternator --- Done but not fitted
6) Silencer --- Part Awaited

Small work presently being done, like

1) Brakes --- Done
2) Master cylinder --- Checking
3) Fuel tank cleaning --- Done

Couple of days more we intend to start the car, run it and finish the paint job.

Unfortunately, the tinker is left on a long holiday

The new and quite young tinker is not confident of separating the chassis and body, so will complete the underchassis tinkering ( which is not much ) as is.

The color combo is still being worked on, i say Yellow and white but lets see what the car owner wants.

Some updates.

Hmmm......too bad! Anyways, let's hope for the best! And even though the fellow is new, he should know to remove the badges and trim from the roof atleast (BTW, I thought you'd said they had been removed the last time I pointed it out?!)

Also are they not going to change the petrol tank opening back through the rear wing?

Some updates.

Shyam, i dont see the Fuel tank vent anywhere on the side panel, does not look like its been closed.

The badges are now off had to heat and take it off.

Few important parts required have come, like the bonnet lock and outer handle, muffler, one LH center pillar, oil filter.

Only few parts required as of now, like the LH door outer handle, Exhaust manifold pipe, clutch cylinder at gearbox and the radiator cooler fan

Shifting the vehicle to a different place in the coming week, this guy is becoming expensive by the day. Just waiting for him to finish the under body tinkering which is very minimal.

The said work from the time it started has been quick enough, i never expected to get the scraping , tinkering , Body filler job and body tapping job to be done so soon. Somehow need to finish this soon.

I brought this particular car as a gift for my DAD's Birthday 2 years ago, We used to drive around in a Herald many years ago, i vaguely remember sitting in this car, but somehow the project never took off with the previous workshop.

This was a running car when i picked it up and sadly did not drive it even for 1 KM, thought will restore it and drive, but sadly the car never came on road for the actual purpose. Hope to see this car running soon, and PAVAN one more thing, i got hold of 4 wired wheels for this car, do you suggest we put them on to the herald, it requires a chrome job but.

The color choice is yours, decide whats best and have it painted.

Saar, you should've seen it before the body was primered!

Here is where you will find it (the round hole that was also closed up in this case):

No buddy, there were no signs of the fuel tank opener, wonder why.

Anyways the sad news is that due to lack of funds, this car has gone into a deep slumber

Pic of the car as on date.

This is the 3rd time in 3 years this is happening to the poor car.

Its just almost there, almost 95% of the parts required to start the car are sourced, neat tinkering job done, and now its sudden stop.

Need to move the car out of the workshop in the next 3 days, shop guy not interested in keeping static projects.

I still see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I am planning to get the car painted using some low cost painter, put things back together finally. let me see how i do that on Thursday morning.
