Due to the above I feel this particular helmet/model is not for you/your head shape. It’s unlikely you will be able to use this helmet without the pain point.
I would suggest you try to get rid of this helmet as soon as possible to get a decent resale price.

This was my exact issue. It started to get real painful after about an hour of riding. Rest of the fit was fine. Tried for a couple of rides and had to hand it down to my brother who had a much better fit.

I picked up an Airoh Connor from Autoqueen last week :) two, actually. One for my wife as well.
I was Airoh hunting in Bangalore but no one seemed to have any good ones in stock. Orion had a few Valors and Sparks in stock but I wasn't fully happy when I tried them on, especially considering the price. Asked for Connor but apparently Airoh is not selling well and they weren't ordering any new stocks. Decided to drive down to Autoqueen while I was in Thrissur. Decent collection, decent people to deal with.
Have used it only once, when I rode from Bangalore to Thrissur yesterday.
My size was bang in the middle of the L and M in the size chart so went for an L. It's comfortable enough but started feeling a bit heavy towards the end of my ride. But there are two factors to consider here:
1. This was my first long ride on the GT after the run-in period. Still getting used to the comlete lack of wind protection, plus heavy winds enroute meant my head was bobbing around all over the place.
2. My current helmet weighs a good 200 gms lighter. I am hoping that I get used to the increased weight over time.
Other than that it is quite comfortable. Snug fit. I don't care much about wind noise and I rarely ride with earplugs so not the right person to comment on it. Yes, the roller mechanism will take getting used to; I was fidgeting around to find it but didn't have much success at highway speeds.
Another gripe I have is that the slider for the front airvents is located inside the helmet. Reaching inside the helmet while on the move didn't feel very natural or convenient. It would be much easier to just have it on the outside.
I got the white. Looks quite classy and goes well with the Dux Deluxe GT; doesn't look horrible with the KTM orange either. Wish they had come out with better graphics than skulls and snakes etc. Wife got a flashier helmet that cost 2000 more than the "classic" option. No discounts really - got a nominal 500 off on each. Didn't bother haggling as I had no luck finding them elsewhere.

Just at the right time - I am looking for a decent helmet to replace my old lid. Price and safety wise, Airoh seems to fit my budget and use. However, do you know if there are any Bengaluru based dealers for Airoh?. Primary reason being, I want to try the helmet before buying as my previous helmet (LS2) caused discomfort due to the shape. Thanks !

The black, grey, white and anthracite colors are 12950. This is a new model so not much by way of discount although the dealer did shave 500 off. Got it for 12450.
And here is my wife's helmet. 14450 for the graphics. Looks quite good in real:

Should I read your remarks that the EU spec is slightly bigger than the Asian spec, even though the size will be the same in centimetres?
I understand that EU-size helmets will be more oval compared to Asian helmets, which are a bit rounder. But if that is the case, should I go for an XL from the Asian market (read Bangkok)? My head size is between 59 and 60 cm, and LS2, MT, and SMK L sizes fit me well (snug).
Please suggest.

I am not sure "what exactly" is different but it seems evident that something is different for sure, because the Asian spec just didn't feel right. Whether its size or the shape, not so sure.
I would suggest whatever you do, if its feasible, try what you buy. Otherwise there's always going to be an element of chance.

Must be the shape as the Asian heads are more rounded than the European ones and that dictate the fit for Arai a lot. They even have special measuring device in some of the dealers in Europe and they adjust the fit for your head by removing layers of foam from the padding. Arai never ceases to amaze me with the details they put in their helmets.

Whenever I see Airoh Helmets, first thing that comes to my mind is that iconic police chase scene of John Abraham from Dhoom Movie. I always wonder why Airoh, despite having competent line-up, legacy and reasonable pricing never garnered the kind of sales and fame like LS2, KYT amongst younger riders.
Anyhow, we have limited options in sub 15,000 category and I think this is a fantastic options.

Around 9-10 years ago Vega Stores used to sell Airoh Helmets (along with Axor and Nexx). Those days the average "younger rider" could not afford and Airoh or a Nexx. The Axor was a stretch in the budget over the Vega. I was one of those riders then who picked up an Axor because the Air was out of my budget. Later Airoh and Nexx disappeared from the Indian market. Airoh made a comeback recently.
Are Axor helmets worth giving a try? I somehow felt Axor has the capability of supporting a helmet with spare parts, since it is made here in India by Vega. They also offer d rings and sunvisors in a helmet at a competitive price.
I need to replace my 4 year old THH T76. Though the helmet is fine, the visor is done for good and I just cant find a new visor for it. This is a problem I don't want to face with my next helmet purchase.
Suggestions on Axor and any other alternatives would be highly appreciated.
Go for LS2 helmets based on your budget. They would last longer. The extra thousand or two over local brands is for the durability. Axor, SMK have not lasted in my use. Parts malfunction - inner visor mechanism, padding for my Axor and visor locking mechanism for the SMK. I have also had D ring failure on Axor which is not supposed to happen. The build quality is just better on LS2. Padding especially on both these compared to the LS2 do not last.
Of course for the uber rich, you have Arai, Shoei, Schuberth etc. HJC also makes helmets it you can find them. Airoh is overhyped I feel, having seen and trying them at the store. Try the LS2 MX 436 pioneer 2 or the FF800 if you can afford. Lower models also available.

Worth giving a try? Definitely yes. They are quite good I feel for the price point. You may want to look at SMK in the same price point.
If looking at FF or MX helmets then you can look at book SMK and Axor. However SMK doesn't have Dual Sport helmets in its portfolio.

Typically 5 years is the life of a helmet. The meter starts from when it was manufactured. So looks like you have used its full life almost!

I think this is uncalled for.
Arai/ Shoei / Schuberth / Klim provide the extra protection, comfort, testing that justifies their price. While each person has their budget, I feel if a person is riding a 10L bike, spending 10% of personal protection is bare minimum. After all you need to be alive and in shape to be able to enjoy your bike.
