Exactly! Entering through the grills of the bumper, passing it between the Battery compartment and the engine and entering inside right through the firewall/fresh air mode vents seems pretty much easier without any objections.

I think it is clear that the Swift had quite some momentum when it crashed into the barrier. The accident has occurred at the entrance to one of the Kochi metro stations. I think one possibility is that the driver of the Swift lost control when was swerving to avoid some other vehicle that had stopped to drop or pick up someone. He possibly hit the curb, which launched him into the railing.

The wall of that railing (probably a tube) would be much thicker than car panels. I guess it is stainless steel too. It would be a ferocious weapon against any car.

In my opinion, looking at the entry & exit angles, the railing didn't encounter any hard resistance. It went in through headlight, between battery and engine head (over transmission), missing HVAC unit (no HVAC protruding out of IP), between the front seats, ripping the coarse mesh of rear seat and coming out through the edge of back door. The plastic stuff in engine bay and IP was hardly any match to it.

The diameter and material gave enough strength to the rail (pipe). Also, it seems like a near head-on collision, dissipating minimal energy in bending.

I guess there must be a traffic policeman ahead of them, both the triple riding 2 wheelers stopped abruptly.

Everything wrong on our roads, well illustrated: chaotic parking of vehicles; another 2 wheeler and the scorpio 'negotiating' who gets to go first; and the constantly angry working class rushing to extract the driver out to deliver some justice.

This report (in Malayalam) states that the driver lost control after getting into a water filled pothole and rammed into the structure bordering the special entrance for disabled people to the nearby metro station. Happened at 2 am in the morning. Report also states the place was without any street lights. Driver escaped unhurt.

How can one be so careless? Leaving a toddler without supervision, and reversing a car like an idiot , lacking any awareness as to the presence of a child.

And the stupid lady, people like these should never reproduce. I am thankful that the car did not run over the poor child.

I couldn't see this clip without missing a heart beat.

There were a couple of elders in the frame that ran once the kid is knocked down. They need a hard kick where it hurts.
It wasn't really the fault of the driver and of course the kid is just a kid.

I got this clip few days back over WhatsApp, but did not have the heart to share it.

It seems that the driver got in and started driving under the assumption the other guy is there. He goes off as soon as the driver gets in.

And as for the lady, who I also initially thought was sitting there all the while, actually seems to have come running from inside, most probably hearing the kids cry, same time as the driver.

But yes, ones does not carry out a task around a infant, without explicitly making sure the infant is in safe hands. Never assume!
