Holy *&^%. This is horrible! If the passengers did perish, may they R.I.P.

Edit: There is a separate thread for accidents.

Looks like there is minimal damage to the front. But the rear is torn apart badly. I doubt if the cops are correct in saying everyone were killed since the cabin looks like it absorbed the impact and there are no signs of major damage to it. Rear passengers might have been injured though. Sad to see a new car wasted like this. Hope no one was injured badly or killed.

Thats a horrific freak accident. If i understand correctly, the accord was stationary in the fast lane ( right most) and this trucker came and just drove into the car?

I find that hard to beileve as truckers hardly can go over 80kmph and at that speed they can spot this car from a far distance.

Now the question, why the hell was he stationary on the fast lane and that too on an expressway?

Its a really bad accident. May the dead RIP.

I think Lewis Hamilton(or his fan) was driving the truck.

Exactly my question. Atleast the front 2 passengers (if they were 2) should have survived.

The front looks fine but not the rear. Look carefully at the picture no. 3. The rear wheel fender is nowhere to be seen it has went in.

The trucks even if doing 80kmph has a lot of momentum so this happens.

AFAIK, I feel that although the physical damage makes us believe that passengers should have survived, its matter of how much internal injuries the human body can take.

Only reason front passengers would have died if they were not wearing seat belts.

@NetfreakBombay, your post reminds me of a mail that was doing
rounds a couple of years back. Some Malasian highway accident.
A guy sitting in the front passenger seat (w/o seatbelts) was thrown out of the car through the windshield and many a metre on the highway.

The mail was graphic. Was difficult to comprehend that it was human
lying there. Gives me the chills even today.

Man thats a bad bad accident. God bless the departed souls.
Well, actually what suprises me is that why was the car stationary in the fast lane ? Well the cabin does look intact but the rear passengers might have got hit badly. Its a very well known fact that many a times the rear passengers dont wear seat belts. Also, the trunk has crumpled badly into the rear head rest. Bad bad crash.

The first pic gives no hint of the kind of damage that happened at the back. The impact must have pushed the car some distance. I can't begin to imagine the kind of force the passengers must have felt. If someone was not aligned to the head rest, his neck may have snapped. This is horrific. But why was the car stationary on the fast lane?
