NICE road connectivity from BG road has become much better. Gone are the sharp ridges on which you had to balance the car wheels. There are still some areas where there are problems, but these can be negotiated. I saw a few Zens and a few 800s negotiate the stretch without much scrapping.

This is as of 27th Dec.

The connectivity from NICE road (Hosur road side) to Bannerghatta road is bad. Rest of the connectivity is ok and manageable. Its probably better to take kanakapura road and then join nice road.

Which is the best way to go Mysore Road from Marthahally?
If its early morning i think we can take Marthahally-Airport road-
City market flyover-Mysore Road.
But day time which is the best route. How about taking these options?

1. Marthahally-KR Puram- hebbal-magadi raod-Kengeri(is this very far)
2. Marthahally-silk board-BTM-JPNagar-Utharahally-Mysore Road
2. Marthahally-silk board-BTM-JPNagar-NICE Road-Mysore Road

I would rule out option-1 as this seems to be the longest. I am also not sure of option-2, since road condition beyond Uttarahalli is unknown to me. Hence, we are left with option-3.

In addition, i suggest:
Marathalli - Silk board - BTM - JP Nagar - Ring road - Mysore road.

In any case, the airport road route is the shortest.

I did the following route from Indiranagar to Mysore Road at 3:30pm - fairly traffic free and 35km took only about 50min. (Considering Bangalore traffic that is quite an achievement).

Madiwala - Silk Board - BTM Ring Road.
Immediately left on 29th Main (next to Madiwala lake) to avoid BTM Ring Rd traffic.
Then take 8th Cross to Bannerghatta Road, turn Right and then left into Outer Ring Rd
3km on ORR till Kanakapura Rd. Turn Left (@ Reebok showroom) into K'pura Rd. Drive 8km and turn right into NICE Road. Go down and hit Mysore Road just after Kengeri

Uthrahalli - Kengeri road is good (newly getting laid and broken patches in few places)

But Kadranahalli Cross to Uthrahalli is worst. So it is better to take JP Nagar - 100 Ft ring road till you join Mysore road junction.

here are a few questions i have:
1) how far do i have to travel down sarjapur road to reach the PRR?
2) is it ready between sarjapur road to old madras road?
3) what about hennur road? how far down hennur road is it? is it ready between there and NH7?
4) what about NH207 - this is not the PRR right?

I thought that PRR is currently on paper and no road has actually been made.

Is the PRR fully ready now? I am planning to drive from chennai to mangalore and would like to take this from Electronic city to Tumkur. Are the exits clearly marked and where is the exit from Electronic City?

Has anyone used it recently as i would like to know of any unfinished stretches.

cheers

How is the road condition on the NICE road between Electronic City to Mysore Road?
Forgive my ignorance, but does this directly link onto Mysore road?

From Marathalli, i would usually go via Silk Board to Kanakpura Road, and then enter NICE Road from there to join Mysore road, but was looking for an alternative via EC.

Re: Bangalore Peripheral Ring Road

An old thread ... but yesterday's news

Quote:
Karnataka Govt Approves ₹21,091cr Peripheral Ring Road Project In Bengaluru, Concessionaire To Be Granted 50 Year 'Build-Operate-Transfer' Contract. he Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) is planned as a 73.50-km stretch with a 100 metre-wide road. On completion it will connect Tumakuru in and Hosur roads, via Hessaraghatta Road, Doddaballapur Road, Ballari Road, Hennur Road, Old Madras Road, Hoskote Road and Sarjapur Road. Along with NICE Road, which links Tumakuru Road and Hosur Road via the city’s northwestern, western and southwestern areas, Bengaluru will have a 116-km-long bypass on its periphery.

So is it that the current NICE road will be part of this PRR ?

Yes, this has been in planning phase and news since past 17 years at least. Hope it gets moving soon.

Regarding the NICE road, it will not be part of PRR. However, what it means is that NICE road has one part of the ring done, the other part of the ring will be by PRR.

any idea when id Kheni's contract getting over ?

The PRR cannot be a 2 + 2 lane road. One half cannot be different from the other half, either. Somewhere down the line, it should get integrated.

.
I remember reading earlier that it was a 30 years contract. So atleast another 15 years is pending.
