Bangalore Peripheral Ring Road

Road warriors

Can anyone share a map of Bangalore with the latest update(s) on the Peripheral Ring Road/NICE Road - where all it is currently present and usable, etc?

If not a map, some gyaan on this would also be appreciated. What stretches is this new road available - where does it intersect existing roads, etc.

Thanks

Ravi

I have been extensively using the Kengeri -Kanakpura -Bannerghatta NICE road . The road condition is too good.
No idea about the other routes.
Can some throw light on the NICE road stretch from Nelmangala bridge to Electronic city.

Hey can anyone give me some landmark from where i will get some idea about the turn to NICE road from Bannerghatta Road?
I have gone on that road a couple of times but both times i could find the road only by following someone else.
IIRC, there is a very kachha road that one has to take from BG Road to get onto NICE road, towards Kanakpura.

I second this. I've been looking for this connection for a while and once spent almost an hour looking for this turn.

From BG road to kanakapura road:
Driving from city towards BG national park, after gottigere village, there is a small mud road on the right side. This mud road is adjacent to a coconut plantation, IIRC. Take the mud road for about 0.5 kms to reach the NICE road. Be warned that mud road is in a pathetic state - deep potholes and such - and IMHO, impossible to drive passenger cars when it rains.

From BG road to Hosur road:
Again, driving from city towards BG national park, in the middle of gottigere village, this is a small road on the left side. You can't miss it, since there is usually a traffic jam at this junction This road further on leads to the NICE road leading towards hosur road.

What a sorry state of affairs. A 2 km stretch of unmade road is causing grief to so many people

Nice Rd and Bannerghatta RD

The Nice Road is broken at the intersection with Bannerghatta Road.. The lesser said about why the better..

To get on to the Electronic city side, you have to take a really rough stretch through the gottigere tank bund..

To get to the kanakapura side, you have to travel about 100 mts further on BG rd and make a right onto another set of terrible road..

While entering Gottigere (coming from Meenakshi Temple side) on the left you will get RAI management college board, just after this (about 50 mtrs) you will find a kuccha road on left which goes over Gottigere tank bund. Take this road and go on until you hit a dead end, actually its a "T" section, take right here and you will see the NICE road. From this you can go to Electronic city.

Similarly, after Gottegere village just before Royal Hermitage you will find a right turn which will lead you to NICE road section that goes towards Mysore road.

If you miss everything enquire in Gottigere and somebody will tell you the directions.

Hopefully these directions helps you in finding NICE road this time.

Little bit of OT here, NICE road is different than Peripheral ring road and is part of BMIC. PRR is planned by BDA and is still on paper, it is supposed to cut Bannerghatta Road couple of kms before National Park and go all around Bbangalore. NICE road just connects Tumkur Road to Hosure road, its an arc rather than a circle.

Only thing I know about PRR: It is a mystical road that somehow assumes arbitrary shapes to pass next to every upcoming property in extra-urban Bangalore. Atleast, this is what the property developers out here want us to believe.

BG - Electronic City

All,
How is the road from BG Road - Gottigere till NICE road?
It was in horrible state before the rains. I can't imagine now.
I am planning to take this on a weekday at 2 PM for going to Ele. City from JP Nagar

Is it advisable to take this road or go through BTM?

I have travelled between mysore road to hosur road and tumkur road to magadi road in NICE expressway.

nice road between mysore road junction and kanakapura road is good, BMIC has land all the way. Biggest Problem is bannergatta junction, no land available for NICE to construct road i guess. so connecting roads are suitable only for trucks, I travelled only once while driving to yelgiri tbhp meet.

tumkur road to magadi road is also comelete and its in good shape, i assume road between magadi road and mysore road is also done now.

NICE expressway connecting ring road PESIT college near banashankari and nice park/junction road is getting ready too very soon.

i guess by this year end NICE road between tumkur road to hosur road will be fully ready except for 1km near bannergatta road. and also road connecting bangalore city near PESIT banashankari ring road.

Regards,

Ravi.

The NICE road is supposed to end at Tumkur road(NH4) & the PRR is supposed to continue from there towards Bellary road (NH7).Recently I saw some vehicles on the NICE road from Magadi road side go over Tumkur road flyover towards Bellary rd.Does anybody know if this stretch is complete,if so where does it intersect Bellary rd ?

PS:it will save a lot of headaches for me....

I take the Bannerghatta Road-NICE road on a daily basis. I use it to commute to my office on the ORR (Belundur Junction). The connecting road from Gotigere village to NICE road has of late got some patch up thing done maybe by the sunny village resort owners or someone. Its motorable now. More so with my new Ford Fusion

Additionally, Ashok Khenny has nice rapport with the new government setup and hopefully he would get the approach road done.

Do not, i repeat donot, try to reach the NICE road from the Bannerghatta road unless you are having something like Tata Safari or likes. Or unless you hate your car.Specially if it is raining. I tried to join that section last Sunday for my G.Betta trip but had to come back and then took the Kanakapura Road-NICE connection.

Too late, Kaushik :-(
I tried it yesterday, and scraped my car's underbody just when the road was in sight.
The exhaust clamp came loose so had to drive very carefully till Mandya. First mechanic i showed the car to said the engine bedding has been cut. Thankfully i took a second opinion and it was just a loose clamp!!
But i have now vowed not to take that road again, till they complete it.
