Thanks samkat1. Did your friend have to stop at AP borders for transit pass?

No. No more checking anywhere in this route since Unlock 4.0 has been implemented.

Dear All,
I am traveling to Hyderabad (en route to Bhubaneswar) with my parents.
As my Father is diabetic he has frequent urge for urination.
While adult diapers are a savior could anyone suggest good pit stops on the way which would be clean and safe?
Kindly suggest.

Had listed down these places (mostly food joints). Most of those (if opened) can be used for washroom purposes. However, this list is a year old and I've not used the facilities in all of those. Hope it helps you.

I am facing similar situation, with a young kid and women in the car. Did you find a list of good toilets between Hyderabad and Bangalore which are clean and well maintained?

I travelled last week from Hyderabad. Just after Kurnool roads have deteriorated a bit(bumpy and few potholes), otherwise excellent as usual. Stopped at Food Pyramid and it was operating as usual. Other places seem to be operating as usual too. Carried own food and took precautions (surface disinfectants / sanitizers)

I hear the roads are cut off/shut down due to the rains. Was planning a drive this Sunday to Hyderabad, but that looks likely to be delayed with this weather. Would be following this thread hopeful of updates, in addition to asking around.

I'm planning to drive from Hyderabad to Bangalore on October 28, 2020, and planning to drive back on November 7, 2020.
I have been following this thread too to stay up to date on the route conditions.

I noticed this article, which might help you.

Also, the news reports mentioned about overflowing near Gagan Pahad and Palle Cheruvu. A quick check of these locations on Google Maps show that it shouldn't impact the driving from Bangalore, because one should be able to take the outer ring road, unless you're heading to these areas.

However, would wait to see anyone with a better understanding of the situation in these areas.

Take care and stay safe, everyone!

Traveled to Mahbubnagar and back.

Update.
Was stopped at Aramghar Junction once exciting PVNR. Had to take a U turn and proceeded through Rajendernagar and take the ORR. But I proceeded through the service road to ORR exit skipping Shamshabad.
On the way back 2pm still the road was not ready and was barricaded and police were guiding to take the ORR to get into the city.

No problem on the Bangalore to Hyderabad route:

Keep these marked in your Maps. Should be helpful.

I travelled HYD-BLR on 18th Oct. I took ORR to NH44 and then drove down to Bangalore. No issues with the highway, things were good. The only problem was the ORR toll booth queue at NH44 while exiting the ORR. There were only two booths open and it took almost 20-30 mins to clear that. Traffic was bit high till Jadcherla and road opened up after that. Of course, we started a bit late at 8:45am, typically I start around 6:45-7:00am. If you start early, you should be good.

We didn't stop at any place on the way to BLR. We had packed our own breakfast and lunch. Stopped at a safe place on the side on the highway and had our lunch, and bio breaks for gents & kids were on the roadside too. No checks for covid at any state border and things were smooth.

Thank you for the detailed update regarding the current conditions. This is very helpful and gives the much needed confidence to embark on our trip as planned. We intend to start early on 28th October, so, hopefully we don't wait that long at the toll booth. I will post our trip update once we complete our trip.
Take care and stay safe and best wishes!

Returned to HYD today. No issues again at any state border. Traffic was less due to Vijayadashmi. The road between Kurnool and Anantpur was a bit bad in patches , but otherwise no issues. Again, had packed lunch and had it by side of highway at a bus stop which had benches. Bio break this time was at a HP petrol bunk as there were seniors, and coffee at a Udipi restaurant near Jadcherla (coffee was hot & served in paper cup, so thought chances of catching corona was less :) ) . Could complete the trip in good time.

Most of highway restaurants etc were open and there were a few people at those places. Looks like tolls have increased since the last time I travelled, and overall toll worked to approx Rs 800 between HYD and BLR. Make sure your Fastag is charged with that amount at least before you start.

Wishing you a safe and flawless journey!

Great to hear that you had a smooth trip!
Thank you for the additional details and your wishes. These are very helpful!

Regarding tolls, I have found this to be helpful. I add about 20% more to my Fastag account prior to my trips.

Take care!

Did HYD - BLR - HYD with family over the weekend. First inter-city drive in these COVID times - felt like a free bird :).

Excellent roads as usual - except that road surface has slightly deteriorated in patches after Kurnool (from HYD) with some potholes etc. There are a few road diversions enroute as well for flyover construction.

Took about 6.5 hours airport-to-airport driving sedately (mostly at 100 kmph - rarely exceeding 110) with about a 10-15 min break. We were mostly carrying packed food - all restaurants enroute seemed functioning normally - though not everyone was wearing masks.

Traffic seemed pretty normal - both trucks and cars.
