Is this timing Airport-Airport or door-door?
This time at 80-90 kmph would be bit unrealistic.
Average time between the airports is 6-6.5 hours.

4:30am start from Bellandur and by 11:15am, I was on the Hyd ORR near exit number 12 and heading towards exit 8. This includes only refueling break.

That early morning start from Bangalore ensured I didn't get any traffic until Jedcharla. A late start would have easily added 1+ hr. to the travel time just to cross Bangalore.

Trip statistics. This is just after getting on the ORR

It turns out that Bangalore is at a higher elevation (higher than Dehradun) and Hyderabad is much lower than Bangalore. When you travel from Bangalore to Hyderabad, you're going downhill (technically) and that's why it's much faster. However when you're coming back you're climbing (again technically) hence it takes more time.

I have always felt the journey back from Hyderabad is a little longer and a tad bit slower.

Sreesh

Fully agree Sreesh. For the 4 trips I made last year, my car returned a better mileage onwards to Hyd and I could do Airport to airport in five and a half hours, the return to Bangalore always felt longer and with a reduced mileage.

How feasible are car pooling apps on this route? Planning for a drive to BLR Today evening. Let's see how it goes?

Bla Bla, quickride car used to be very popular on this route before pandemic. Mostly with people of Hyd or Blr trying to get to their office from home town. Not sure about now. Quickride advantage is that you can select people from corporate office only, unlike Blabla which is open to all.

Hi Everyone I will be travelling to BLR on Sunday. was just wondering which is the best and quickest route?
Any do's and Dont's? I will be in BLR for a week. what happens if I am stopped by a cop while in BLR? and they ask about the out of station plates?

Just follow the national highway, no need to look into other routes. Hyd, Kurnool, Ananthpur, Blr.

Just be mindful for speed guns near kurnool, Ananthpur and near Kia factory near penagonda where speed is designated as 80 kmph, rest of the place its 100 kmph. And also in Bangalore airport road, there will atleast 2 speedguns, maintain below 80 kmph.

Cops don't have anything to do with outstation vehicles, they can just ask for documents not their jurisdiction. If RTO stops just say you are on short trip and if required show petrol bills or fastag sms. So nothing to worry.

Folks, anyone did this route in Jan? Is there any check for wearing mask inside car, or on entering Blore or at the KTK border?

TIA

I came back on the pongal weekend. There were no such checks.

I drove to Hyderabad today, started around 6.00 am. Traffic was light in Bangalore but Highway traffic was as usual, plenty of two wheelers too. We got the ePass from Sindhu seva, the police at the checkpoint asked to see the address on adhaar card and waved us through. They are basically confirming the Hyderabad address on Adhaar card. No further check points anywhere.

Wayside restaurants have not full opened but the towns are buzzing with activity.

Thanks mate. How about when entering Blore? Do they check for aadhar or any pass there?

There are no Aadhaar or any other pass checks. But as per law, masks are required in Banglore. On 13th Jan, I was photographed and later pulled over by cops for not wearing masks in the car. They were asking for 250/person as fine.

I just completed a return trip from Hyderabad to Mysore and back this week. Hyderabad - Bangalore was great as usual, I took my i20 Asta automatic car. The entry at Navayuga Tool booth at Tumkur road (since I came from Kengeri side via NICE road) at 09:19 AM and came out at exit 1 Kokapet 17:42. This of course included taking all the traffic inside Bangalore (though it was not bad) and a good 60 min breaks for the following

1. Fuel Refill - 20 mins at Shell Devanahalli
2. 30 mins Lunch break & coffee at Cafe Coffee day at KPS Filling station, Pedavagur
3. Small bio break - 10 mins at Addakal toll Plaza

Break up by toll plaza is as follows (return journey - MYS-BLR-HYD):

Kokapet 40.00 17:42:01
Raikal Toll Plaza 65.00 16:49:50
Sakapur Toll plaza 65.00 15:52:08
Pullur Toll Plaza 110.00 14:54:20
Amakthadu Toll Plaza 110.00 14:13:56
Kasepalli Toll Plaza 105.00 13:06:53
Marur Toll Plaza 115.00 12:20:25
Bagepalli Toll Plaza 95.00 11:15:44
Devanahalli Toll Plaza 95.00 10:04:16
Navayuga Bangalooru Tollway 20.00 09:19:33
Left Mysore at about 6:45 AM (and this included INR 75 for NICE Road from Kengeri to Tumkur Road)

Given the pandemic situation, I only took coffee at Cafe coffee day and stopped at the parking lot to have my own packed lunch. Of course traffic gets heavier as we move post Shanagar towards Shamshabad.

Date: 9th Feb
Start time at Blr Airport : 8 am
Entry into ORR, Hyd : 2 pm
Just one bio break enroute. Being a work day, the traffic was very light.

Return was on 12th. Left Hyd at 9.30 AM. ORR exit was around 10.15 am and I reached Bangalore airport by 4.45 PM and home by 6 pm.

Overall, barring a few diversions, the drive was quite peaceful. The FASTAG worked super well all through. I somehow find the sensing of the tags faster than how it was last year.

I did the Bangalore - Hyderabad route today. The tarmac was excellent all through, pot holes being rare. However, the speed breakers in Karnataka and AP are a big big pain - a few like one in Dhone bypass are killer. No such problem in Telangana though, kudos to the state government! Trucks trying to overtake each other are, as with all other routes in India, a big time & speed killer.

There is a bridge being constructed in Kurnool & one near Jadcherla. Also tar is being freshly laid in a stretch after Amakthadu Toll Plaza, so there's a 5-6 km stretch where traffic from both sides plies only one side of the road. Other than this a few minor diversions. All in all the road is in very good shape.

I started from Whitefield at 6.30 am and reached hotel in Gachibowli at 4.30 pm with around 1 hr 15 mins breaks in between. Mostly drove between speeds of 80-100 kmph & had two pit stops at Amazon Kitchen & Food Pyramid - the food here was average, the tea was good & washroom was clean. The total toll cost was Rs.1,800 (includes Rs. 40 for ORR). My Figo Diesel gave me a mileage of 19.5 kmpl for the trip (full tank to full tank measurement).
