It is a bit closer to the route, I agree - but it is very much away from the town - so if I want to go to another restaurant for dinner, it will be difficult.

Also, it is not a great place and is a little lonely. Service was so-so when I stayed there in 2009.

I agree. Food is not that great and its a bit lonely being out of the town.
Sparsha is even further down and away from the main road.

Thanks Ranjit and Waseem. Stayed at the Regal Enclave based on your suggestion and trip advisor reviews and it was pretty decent. The hotel lacks a little in product (hotel lobby & restaurant) but it was very nicely made up by the airport pick up, good location, staff which was friendly but not intrusive and overall good service. free wifi was an added bonus. The room was decent too. Overall, it was a good stay.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Stayed overnight at Court yard The Resort http://courtyardtheresort.com/
The hotel is brand new and has a very nice swimming pool and good view from the first floor rooms.
I got a room for Rs.3000 (booked two rooms) via Cleartrip promotions. This included breakfast (which was average).

The location is just on the highway but few KM before actual Ganpatipule. So you have to have your own vehicle.

Depends on where you want to stay in Belgaum.

Eefa Hotel @ Club road (camp) is a decent place to stay.

BTW:If you are a foodie as well, i can recommend few great places in Belgaum to make your visit memorable.

Waseem.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hotel Rayas, Kumbhakonam - near Mahamaham tank
Tariff for Deluxe A/C - 1400/- + tax (The rooms are neat, and spacious, staff is courteous)
They have ample parking space, also provide pick-up and drop facilities (I didnt use that, since I used my own conveyance). Overall, a very good experience.

Had stayed there a couple of times during my trips to the Navagraha temples. There are three hotels belonging to the same group (Rayas, Rayas Annex and Rayas Grand). All three hotels are within the city, and located near to each other.

Hotel Rayas

Last time, I THINK I stayed at Hotel Arunachala (?) which was excellent, but now I'm unable to find it...I also need the website of the hotel so that I can see the facilities available.

And, yes, I don't want to stay at Arunai Anantha or Sparsha - both are far away from the Girivalam route.
OK, I found the place where I stayed last time in Thiruvannamalai. I'll wholeheartedly recommend that place to anyone.

It is http://www.arpanaahotels.com/index.php

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Last summer stayed for a night at Hotel Holiday Palms - Tumkur road near Nelamangala.

Excellent place with an ample landscaped area and parking space. Breakfast spread is awesome - All inclusive price for a A/c Deluxe double occupancy room was Rs 2300/-

Very convenient for people needing a night halt out of Bangalore city while driving from further down south and heading towards Hyderabad via Nelamangala - Doddabalpur bypass - Devanahalli

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Guys,

Any recommendation for a budget accomodation near Gundlupet (<10KM radius)? Most internet search results end up in Ooty or Masinagudy or Wayanad resorts.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Did a quick trip to ganpatiphule, stayed the night at Madyachya Banat
Excellent homestay experience. The food was home made, the chef/cook was like an elder sister and made some excellent Maharashtrian fare.
The rooms are very spartan, but the attention to detail was amazing, the linen was better than some 3 star properties I have stayed in.

The best part, the Sea is right across the road. We sat there after dinner, not a soul around it was like your own private beach, and you walk back to your room in under 90 secs. Some water sports were also happening in the day time.
Paid 3k for a night, dinner and breakfast. Total VFM.

On the way out checked out Courtyard by The Fern group. This will be the place to stay on the next family trip, this is missing piece in this area, Krishnali has run down, it still has the best location. MTDC is a pain to book and food and service is a major issue. Blue Ocean resort, I may as well go to Goa and get a better deal.

All in all Madyachya Banat is my option when I travel alone, if family it will be Courtyard.

Hardly any decent options in gundlupet, not sure if this place still exists,i have this noted down a long time back http://khushiresort.findblooms.com/khushiresort-contact

Jungle Lodges is the best bet but then definitely not budget, unless you have work in Gundlupet why do you want to stay there, staying at Mysore and doing a quick 45min run in the morning would be more reccomended as better hotels in mysore.I remember seeing a lodge kind of place as you enter Gundlupet near the CCD.Cant remember the name though.

Absolutely true about Fern Courtyard and the rates are very competitive as well. For the moment the base category is at 3k with bf and taxes and the deluxe one is at 5k with bf and taxes.

@ranjitp1 I did not stay at Courtyard and the rates of 3k is not of Courtyard.
I was referring to Madyanchya Banat's rates for my stay with them.

Thanks Ranjit, I was guided to Kushi by another fellow BHPian too. They are still operational and reasonable, Tariff is 1500 bucks for non-ac room.

I am coming from Theppakkadu direction and driving towards Calicut. Just need a late night stay and that too no ladies in our group which ticks our choice for a economic accomodation.
