If manufacturer has chosen RFT for X1 then I do not think they have done it blindly. They must have designed suspension w.r.t RFT. It is not like RFT do not have sidewall flex. It only during the punctures RFT helps.

I think suman must keep his RFT as long as it gives service (35 - 40K) and then go for regular tyres.

Yes suspension must have been designed keeping in mind RFT's but that doesnt mean that softer tyres will be detrimental.

I did not mean that RFT's have no flex. Sidewall of RFT's are extremely stiff as it needs to be hold up even when the tyre is deflated. This means it's bound to be stiff.

Couldn't find a jaw drop smiley, otherwise that would have been the first choice.

Fabulous

PS: I think you are gonna change my 320D upgrade to a X1 after I read your ownership thread.... lolz

Re: Suman's Final Dilemma : 320d or X1? EDIT : It's the X1

Congrats, Suman! Great choice of car and great choice of colour. I share your passion for that blue It also makes the X1 look better than the weird brown shade that a lot of people are opting for, and maybe better than the white too. Beige interiors suit the exterior perfectly. What did you finally decide regarding the RFTs?

The omission of corona rings is criminal. This is the first thing I checked when the 320d CE was being launched. To my relief, they were there on the CE and the alloys were also sweet (my second concern).

Anyway, hope you enjoy your DRIVE to work and back now. It's no longer just a commute. Happy miles, Suman!
