Can we have a Thanks option for Team BHP app users? I have to open the thread in browser everytime I have to thank a post. A small thanks button below the member's avatar would be great.

But it is there. At least on the old app it is still there.

There is no "thanks" option on the iPhone/iPad app, at least that's what I've observed. Like swift_guy mentioned, we need to open in browser every time to thank someone for a post.

Request mods to add this feature in the app.

Re: Team-BHP App for your Android Phone & Tablet

I have been using the android app for quite a while now, and i must say experience using it is far from satisfactory. The app version has few good things going for it like:

+ Better readability
+ Faster page loading optimized for small displays / wireless networks
+ Easily view messages, participated / subscribed threads

However it has many bugs like

- Sometimes all images doesn't load properly even after clicking them
- Random application crashes
- Unsubscribing a thread doesn't move it from the subscribed list without restarting

Also formatting is not proper compared to the web version and no option to thank or view thank count.

Today i found something even more serious. I am using a 3 yr old galaxy S3 with 16gb internal & 64gb expandable memory. Of late i am noticing that my internal memory is decreasing steadily without installing any new apps or using internal memory for taking pics/videos. I suspected Sygic to be the culprit as it downloads the offline maps in internal memory. So after a detailed inspection i found the real culprit to be this:

Team-BHP App for your Android Phone & Tablet-screenshot_20160125184638.png

This folder is made by the TeamBhp android app and it has used over 2gb of phone memory After deleting that folder the application works normally and i assume its some cache folder used by the app. I wonder how did they release the application without proper testing as the app still seems to be work in progress. I really hope that the admin team works on updating the app and release a finished deal rather than a half baked product. The responsive teambhp website does quite a good job meanwhile.

I use the app and it is crashing very often nowadays. The message displayed is "Team-BHP has stopped" and the app restarts.

Is it a problem with the app or my mobile phone?

All my apps get updated from google play everyday over wifi. I guess you have a lower cache size as you may not be using it that often. Besides even 600mb data is huge. They are supposed to delete the older records or set a limit say 200mb as default. But this seems to accumulate all the junk over time.

Yes, I use the older App. The newer version isn't too my liking at all. I browse through the App 90% of the time and post majorly through the App.

There is no possibility of adding images (uploading from system) by editing a post in the Android app. In other words, suppose I post a reply and forgot to upload images, I have to go to mobile browser mode and then again Advanced mode to do the same. There is no possibility of this in app and even in browser, it is not direct (i.e. one has to 'Go advance' in order to upload images).

Not a very serious problem, but would be helpful in case a newer version of app is created in near future.

Re: Team-BHP App for your Android Phone & Tablet

Gents,

Apologies for the fact that we haven't been able to update the Android app. The fact is that almost all of it seems to be out of our control (since we're using a pre-existing platform), and despite many attempts, we haven't had any success in adding particular features we want.

On the flip side, the BHP SmartPhone skin works excellently, is fully featured, and solves almost all the issues that have been recently reported in this thread.

Do check it out...

Re: Team-BHP App for your Android Phone & Tablet

The search function is merely ornamental. If I search for 'WILLYS' it displays 'FERRARI'

Other than that the app is ok.

Re: Team-BHP App for your Android Phone & Tablet

A quick question to the team-bhp app team - any plans for a blackberry app? If not, would it be possible to share the '.apk' file since I can 'sideload' android apps on my blackberry passport

Best,

The Search button seems to have disappeared from the app today?
