Thank you for the support, me and Ranjit are playing together for the first time so need some good co-ordination going. Karnatana top 10 are participating in that event hence lets see how far we can go.

On a related note, i am in QF in the FrontFoot Corporate tournament and the rest of the matches (QF onwards) will be held this Sunday at Malleshwaram.

Re: The right way to play Badminton

, we are in the QF, next playing Dhana and Selvam from TN. Dhana is a sixth ranked player.

Sent you a PM of my number.

Saw some of the most amazing kids, they are training at Prakash Padukone academy, one of them (as i am told) is being prepared for future Olympics. He was shorter than net height, boy but what a game he had. Will try and upload the video and some pictures.

Re: The right way to play Badminton

Stumbled across this thread today, and I admire the passion and devotion of the thread starter for the game.

I was an avid player during school days, but that was just for fun. My classmate and good friend, Sanat Mishra, who started playing in the court in my house, went upto national level in the late 70s. He was No 2 in India for 2 years, when Syed Modi and Prakash Padukone were the kings.

This thread has stirred nostalgic memories of the game and my pal (now deceased). During those days, we used to use Arrow Flight shuttles and sometimes Dutson. Our racquets were of Slazenzer make.
I wish you guys all the best in your tournaments.

I guess Slazenger has left the badminton racquet business, thanks to the Yonex boom and now Li-Ning is looking at wresting at least some competition back from Yonex. The prominent Indian shuttle that is used now a days is Samrat. All AP district tournaments are held with Samrat as APBA and Samrat have entered into an agreement.Costs 575rs for a box of 10

The baseline game felt very comfortable and it gave a solid feel when hitting clears from baseline in both forehand and backhand.
@mayankjha1806 - Have been off this thread for a while

You are absolutely right on the Voltric Z force. Fantastic one for singles but as you say wouldn't definitely meet the racquet speeds for doubles. Use Nanospeed9900 and find this to be an excellent one for both singles and doubles.

Have used Voltric and it works beautifully for singles..

Cheers

3) again knee joint pain, this time on the left leg just above patella.now i am wearing a knee cap,but still the pain is there especially when i walk upstairs.
4) elbow pain and ankle pain-got relieved with a single dose of pain killer.
good news is that i lost 6 TO 7 KGS in this 6 months, inspite of aggressive appetite .my face is less chubby,my single FAMILY PACK tummy ( not the six pack) is also melting.on the whole i am a happy man but for the knee joint pain
@drbabuanand - Do not play the game by taking pain killers as this will mask the problem and cause further damage

For shoulder pain suggest you do the following exercises

1. Push Up - Traditional ones
2. Plank

For knee try to do some strengthening exercises like leg curl and reverse leg curl. After checking with your trainer you can try to perform core exercises too.

For forearm you should look at reverse barbell curl like

For the reverse barbell curl key is *NOT* to bend the wrist when you barbell is close to chest.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Nanospeed is somewhere close to 8K and change as far as as i remember (One month old price), Voltric Z Force was 11K, when i bought.

These days i am consistently doing weights, will see in a months time if its helping.
