I don't know if there is any conspiracy theory, or whether the flight crashed or anything else...it is all speculation.

Even if the plane has not been hijacked, I am worried about the point that the terrorists now get the fact that a jet as big as the 777 can be made to disappear from the sky and the world will have no clue of it searching for days with all their equipment and satellites or whatever hype & hoopla they have. So, it is possible to 'steal' a plane mid-air and fly it to an isolated strip and repeat what they have done in past, this time with much more planning and intensity...with their own explosives and pilots.

Is there a possibility that this plane may not be found at all? Such a thing occurring in 2014 sounds very scary and unbelievable. For some reason I feel that is how it will end up.

The person "Keller" who helped find Air France Black Boxes says this :

Keller says she is not sure Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 will be found.

"It's a big world out there. And I know people are saying - how could you possibly hide or not find a Boeing 777?

"[But] it's very likely if we don't get any breakthroughs, it's at the bottom of the Indian Ocean and we will never find it, sadly."

It has been concluded that MH 370 crashed in South Indian Ocean.

The cause of the crash remains a mystery.
A 26-nation search has focussed on a remote stretch of the Indian Ocean after satellites from the United States, China and France all detected floating objects believed to be debris from the plane. In recent days, numerous objects have been spotted floating in the water.
Malaysian authorities were preparing to brief families of the passengers - most of whom were Chinese – in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur.

Looks more like a closure that was given to the families rather than a conclusion.

Although it seems to be most likely the debris from MH370 that was found in the Southern Indian Ocean.

The fact why the pilot changed course and ended up in one of the remotest seas on earth will remain a mystery for a while.

Why on earth would a North-bound plane totally reverse the course and fly south-southwest towards Antarctica? If the pilots were suicidal, why fly for seven hours before taking the plunge? If this indeed was a hijack, surely the hijackers didn't expect to land on the ocean?

No one has answer to this. But best guess is, there was some emergency in aircraft. So Pilot turned Aircraft to land to nearest Airport in Malaysia or Thailand. This is where pilots got unconscious (may be due to lack of oxygen). Aircraft kept on flying in Auto Pilot mode till ran out fuel.

There are so many theories. But this one looks most likely. The other theory making round is Pilot suicide, where he wanted flight to crash into such remote part of ocean.

While the initial half of the events would be a mystery. I am speculating on the turn of events

Speculation:

* Hijack attempt or technical emergency, causing first change of direction. (Hijack attempt more likely here)
* Unknown event, causing 2nd change of direction to south. May have been an attempt to land, but this may have been un-successful.
* Unknown event seriously affecting all on board. No one is able to do anything further.
* Plane continues to fly in South-ward direction on it's own.
* Fuel finally exhausted.
* Gradual touchdown on water - hence did not break / did not break violently.
* Since fuel was exhausted, there's no oil slicks
* Not broken on impact, hence sank without spreading debris.
* Hits the ocean bed in a way that it did not split, or split into 1 large piece & 1 small piece (possibly tail side).
* The point of breakage could be near the rear-most cargo bay. Some cargo items may have floated up.

But if the aircraft hasn't broken upon impact, wouldn't the buoyancy keep it afloat like a ship and not sink?
