but your silver beetle is a nice one too - I guess a red one or blue one might have brightened it up a bit but silver is a nice shade too.

Thanks Shankar.

Lovely Beetle, I had the similar one in yellow by Maisto (made in Italy), very good quality (being Italian made) (apart from that made in Thiland were also having good quality).

Repainted the car Black and red, now the beetle is no more with me.

Thanks for the compliments, Manish. This is a Maisto as well.

Between, what happened to your Beetle?

I checked EBAY buddy, there are lots of them there, but the prices quoted are too much.

BTW even the original EVO used in 2F2F is there for sale !!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I have two of the official 2Fast 2Furious cars with me. One is the Supra, and one is the EVO 7 which they used in the movie, but instead of Green, it is Dark red with white wheels.

You'll find cars from the Fast and the Furious Series all over Ebay U.S. You have to keep searching for good deals with the Buy It Now option. Shipping will kill you though. Its best to have someone buy it for you and sent along with someone coming down.

I have the silver Paul Walker Skyline from 2F2F in 1:18

Dipsie, We should have done a Supra and Skyline Shoot once!! And soon we shall Do an S Class Evolution shoot. but dont reveal anything just yet. :D

@All: Any idea if the 1:18 Mercedes SLR McLaren 722 GT is available anywhere? Tried searching EBay, not there. Any leads will be much appreciated.

@Mclaren: The only version I know of is a 1:12 resin model made in china... and its expensive.

Hi friends:

Just thought of trying out macro on one of my newer cameras.

And one of my scale-models that I got my hands on was this 2001 Mercedes Benz C-class made by Schuco, specially boxed and branded for the Mercedes-Benz museum, Stuttgart, which I had the good fortune to visit on Fri. 12-Oct-2001, nine years ago almost to the day.

The Mercedes Benz museum back in 2001 was housed in a small 5700 sq.ft. glass and steel building within Daimler AG's main factory.
Back in 2001 the company was called DaimlerChrysler.
The address was Mercedesstraße 137, 70327 Stuttgart- Untertürkheim. It was 400m away from Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion. Today the museum has a building by itself. Back in 2001, the museum displayed around 100 cars.

Admission was free and the cars spanned the history of the automobile. It was near this site that the very first petrol-powered cars were built. Gottlieb Daimler, Karl Benz and Wilhelm Maybach harnessed the internal combustion engine into a practical vehicle for personal transportation.

The museum had a cute café and a small store with a number of items such as die-cast cars that cannot be purchased anywhere else.

Among the things I bought there, besides some Mercedes-Benz books were a small clutch of 1/43rd scale-models.

Well. Here's the 2001 Mercedes C-class. The rupee coin is just to give a sense of scale. The car is just 10.5 cm long, 4 cm wide and 3.3 cm tall
-- in other words smaller than my Nokia N82 cell phone.

In 2001 it cost me 19.94 Euros.

Schuco is a very old, famous, German scale model company -- an established name among scale model collectors worldwide. They used to be a leader in die cast car models back in the 1970s. Then they shut shop and reopened.

Ram

Schuco makes almost every German car that there is. Good Quality some of them are. I have the Jetta that they make.

Schuco also makes some nice 1:18 Mercedes trucks. Too bad they're so expensive.
