Hmm, I think you are missing the point. Teenagers read those books even now. This thread is about things that belong to past and not present anymore.

For example, waiting for Sunday to watch Star Trek and Der Alte. Now you know how moderator DerAlte got his handle.

I still remember my dad trying to watch Star Trek once with my brother and I. Then he turned to us and said, you actually understand this?

Remember when you would walk probably a kilometer to meet your friends even though you were never sure that they would actually be there (cause no cellphone to contact any but most of the time like telepathy you'ld find them at that place).

Remember when you would patiently wait for months to get that particular music album in your friendly neighborhood music store and probably would check everyday if it has come. Remember what a rush it would be to find that album one fine day.

Remember when you would study hard but at the same time patiently waiting for the exams to get over so that you can go play cricket/Football hearts out with friends.

Remember when Shahrukh Khan was not a Big movie star but a funny talking guy who used appear in Fauji in Doordarshan.

remember watching kozack the russian cartoon in DD1 and the comedy serial with two funny guys (dont remember the name). This was telecast on saturday between 4-6 along with spiderman
remember watching sherlock holmes episodes.
remember watching nirma ads between movies
remember watching all those regional movies on sundays in DD1. Most of them were so thoroughly boring.
remember hero ranger and concorde cycles --every teenagers dream
remember ajay devgan's motorcycle stunt in his first movie. Every teenager wanted to have such bikes and do some stunts to impress the chicks.
remember bigfun ??
remember those days when huge baggie pants were in vogue.
remember those days when owning a nike or reebok was a dream.
remember when pagers where considered to be the coolest gadget to carry around
remember the initial mobile phones that looked like bread boxes (especially motorola and siemens handsets)
remember the first A movie you watched. In my case it turned out to be a documentary on animal reproduction . It was such a turn off. :Frustrati

Remember when you were considered cool at school if you owned a Hero Ranger or BSA Street cat cycle and going nuts on the BSA Street Cat cycle advertisement on TV (Boom-Boom-shak-ka-la-ka tune);) And the the arrival of the Hercules MTB with front Shock absorbers.

Remember when.... Hot Wheels were something to yearn for
Remember when.... SX Endura was the coolest bike to drive
Remember when.... ATB's were made fixed wheels
Remember when.... BMX was a bike everyone wanted to buy and try the wheelies
Remember when.... StreetHawk was something we all eagerly awaited for
Remember when.... Fusen Bubble Gums with their water based tattoos were the best imported bubble gums

Remember when Fuel was only Rs35.

Remember when Prince of Persia-1 was the game - the potions, the sword fighting with skeletons, the jumps through the knife-door traps where head would invariably get cutoff, and the cheat codes :D

Remember Age of Empires and the night-outs - that game got us through college

Remember when we used to watch Duck Tales and Tale Spin on Doordarshan every sunday morning

I used play this late night on office computers (no home PC then) in 1991-1992, even held the TCS-Bangalore record for the fastest finish in 32 minutes. Didn't know about the cheat codes since I didn't get have Internet until 1993.
