Sigh....So true...Amazing!!! More i remember those huge villas and recount the same in front of 'newbies' showing the spot in which it previously stood. I do not seem to have the energy to remember more.

Anybody remember goli-soda? And trying to find as many of the dark blue marbles that went into them as one could?

And NP Chiclets in four different colours for 5p each?

And the first BSA 'sports' cycles that didnt look like what your raddiwala used?

when you tried to help dad crank-start the car?

Valve Radios that gave us our only window to the world outside through BBC World Service (anyone remember Dave Lee Travis and the Jolly Good Show?), VOA, Radio Netherlands, Radio Moscow, Ceylon Radio and stations from obscure parts of the world...

Telefunken tape-recorders that used the LARGE spools of tape

Turntables and LPs

Cyclostyling machines that made taking copies SO VERY MESSY

Telegrams!!! - how many Hindi movies would've ended without a climax if it werent for the 'Telegram' !

... --- ... Morse Code messages in class!

when going to our home town for vacations meant taking about 5 modes of transport to cover 200 kms

and my favourite - the Terraplane Bus!!!

Remember when you read your first Auto Magzine...nd dreamt of drivin those cars!!!

Remember when this costed Rs.70 - 80K and that was a fortune to part with.

Remember when....

Auto India was the best magazine around

Close Up Antakshiri followed by Philips Top Ten were THE shows too watch besides Bold and the Beautiful and Santa Barbara of course

there were no Plastic bottles and if you wanted pepsi at home you either had to know the shop keeper or give a deposit for those 1litre glass bottles.

remember when Knight Rider was the best car serial on TV, Street Hack was the best Bike Serial and Automan was the best action thriller with a full neon lit car... i wonder what was the car!
