It's so hard to decide something like this. As of now, I cannot stop listening to Thom Yorke's - The Eraser.

Almost once a day I play the track Black Swan. Wonderfully depressing and haunting. Probably one of those tunes that become one of the songs of your life.

You cannot kickstart a dead horse
You just crush yourself and walk away
I don't care what the future holds
Cause I'm right here and I'm today
With your fingers you can touch me

I'm your black swan, black swan
But I made it to the top, made it to the top

...
...
...

Be your black swan, black swan
I'm for spare parts, broken up

Listening to this song gives me an eerie peace while driving. Just watching the world go past my windshield.

Soft Rock and Floyd! I disagree with the classification but I agree with the spirit. Lovely band lovely songs and lovely listens (is there a word like that? Sam help needed!) while driving.

Dylan - wuff! The guys lyrics pschye me out.

Hendrix - kills with his distortions.

I made a CD which I routinely play in my car. Includes songs from all the above and Chuck Berry, Chris De Burgh, Doors, Del Amitri, Travelling Willburys, Led Zep, Talbot Brothers, Hazmat Modine etc. A quaint mix of all artists from all genres except Metal and its derivatives.

Floyd is Psychadelic Rock IMO.

Good set of artists mentioned, freak. Yes, I second your opinion on metal - I think it is overrated.

However, 'Doors' is one band I'd keep out of my list. Grateful Dead, The Who, Jethro Tull, Neil Diamond or artists/bands like them instead.

Latest on my list is the LONG ROAD OUT OF EDEN by Eagles. A very good soft rock album!
