re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Yes, after finishing Breaking Bad, I seriously couldn't watch normal TV shows. So I've jumped to The Sopranos - I never watched it before when it was running. Just finished the first season.

If you like slow crime drama a la The Godfather, you will love this.

On an aside - anyone notice how Breaking Bad has subtly played homage to The Sopranos in some incidents? Heard that Bryan Cranston even mentioned that there would be no Breaking Bad without The Sopranos.

We started The Sopranos S1 at paused it at the 9th episode. This one requires time and patience. And is perhaps best watched without breaks in between.

We came to know of Homeland through Dexter's post-credits sequence and a friend insisted that we give this a watch. And on Jan 26th, we started the series in the morn and wrapped it up at 2 AM at the night - ordered food twice over!

Sadly, the third season has lost its charm. Brody is nowhere to be seen.

This was exactly how I and most Dexter fans felt after the finale. But I feel that Dexter would be restarted sometime in the future since he is still alive. On the other hand, Breaking Bad had one of the best and most beautiful endings!

Life is no more the same after breaking bad concluded! Mondays used to be exciting when breaking bad was there but now they are the same,boring, dull mondays!
It's like something's missing. All those die hard breaking bad fans will know how it feels.
Walt, Jesse, Saul, Hank, Mike, Skyler and even the Breakfast champ- Walt Jr., i miss them all! :(

Currently Watching Arrow which is pretty decent but nothing wow.

Next in Queue is Sons of Anarchy, hoping it would be good. Any reviews?

Yep, I watch Arrow too. I like it - you have to get used to it, or not. But then some people couldn't get used to Smallville, which I liked too.
Also airing simultaneously is Revolution.

I've watched all the Sons of Anarchy seasons (currently season 6 is airing).
Love it!

Agents of SHIELD is decent if you're following the current Marvel film series (Iron Man, Thor, Avengers).

Of course, The Walking Dead has top priority on the DVR.

I have all the shows, what I don't have is time...

White Collar and Home Land are the only series that I watch these days on STAR WORLD PREMIERE.
I watch CASTLE sometimes.

On the HINDI side of things, I watch 24 and Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Love Arrow, one of the rare shoes on comic books which is exciting and has a good story arc. It started off badly (too much soap-opera), but it has vastly improved. Season two is amazing, with talks of bringing in the Flash!

Agents of SHIELD I cannot stand at all. It does not have any likeable characters, and Agent Coulson proves that he is NOT a character that can carry a whole show. Also, unless they start introducing some actual superheroes (even Black Widow / Hawkeye), noone will care for it. People are baited into seeing agents of SHIELD thinking they will get some avengers action. Sadly, that is not to be.

SOA is very good. You will be hooked. Starts a bit slow in first season but is a roller coaster ride then on.

Walking dead current season is too damn boring.
As for Agents of Shield its the worst new show being aired. i see it and Yawn!

Another grossly underrated and less-talked-about series is The Shield. It's a fairly old series and aired in the SD format but please give it a watch. It's a crime drama police procedural serial based on a corrupt Strike team and their lives - highly engrossing and gets very intense during the concluding seasons.

Forest Whitaker joins the cast during Season 5 and 6 - 'nuff said.

It's a fantastic series. I picked up the first season earlier this year and it was a blast! It has something of an ensemble cast although Katey Sagal takes the cake - she has been consistent (and annoying!) throughout the series. There are quite a few shocking episodes as well. There are plenty of known faces from Dexter and The Shield that makes an appearance in SoA. The creator of the series Kurt Sutter himself, plays a crucial role in the current season.

Just a word of advice - as you watch the series, do not have any special affection towards any character in the series. As they say with GoT.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Dexter --> Done and Dusted
Numb3rs --> Hobbling along on S4
HIMYM --> Pathetic and horrible season so far. Sidelined as on now.
Castle --> Not bad
Grey's Anatomy --> Yet to start with S10
White Collar --> Not Boring
TBBT --> Not much of a story, but atleast it makes me laugh.
Breaking Bad --> Yet to start. Worried what I get disappointed after all the hype.

Wow.. Too many series. No wonder my wife, at times gets irritated with me over this.

You won't. Every season is a work of art. There are certain parts which may drag but sooner or later it evens out and you are hooked again.

It's all in the writing. BB is one of those rare shows where the writing gets better in the later seasons. Typically a series starts well, gets better and peaks, then the writers get lazy and it all goes downhill from there. Look no further than Dexter.

I don't want to hype it more than it already has been so please...just go watch already!
