I don't agree; it still sounds a bit off to me. Of course, if enough people follow a non-standard usage, it would eventually cease to be considered an error. But I'm not sure if "comprises of" has attained critical mass, so to speak. This forum seems to think it hasn't.

Being old-school, I think I'll avoid "comprises of" until the number of objectors falls further!
