Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

My recommendations for a fancy restaurant which serves good Ramzaan food ? The preferred location is in and around MG road but i guess even Frazer Town should be ok.
Thanks in advance.

This might interest you; Saw this in the Indian Express newspaper recently, found a link for it online.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Recently visited the Ranganathaswamy temple near Chikballapura and on the way back stopped for breakfast at Koteshwaram - The temple of divine food

From outside, the logo and name seemed like an “inspired by Rameshwaram Cafe” place, but once inside, the ambience and food was different and very good actually. Very clean washrooms and a very well maintained place, it’s at the entrance of a gated community that has mango trees inside, makes for a good stop.
What caught my attention was the table top Brass washbasins that resemble the Kerala Uruli !

This place is not too far from the popular and overcrowded Nandi Upachar but on the opposite side of the road, now there is a viable alternative after all.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Our family landed on the 24th main restaurant in JP Nagar for lunch recently. A mango mela was going on and most of the dishes were mango based on the buffet. What stuck me at the end was "How much is too much?" 80% of the dishes were mango based and were either sweet or tangy which definitely robbed the lunch experience. The main course and the couple of Punjabi starters saved the day though.
The place and the ambience were great with quick service and soothing music in the background. I would like to go back when this special edition ends and normalcy is restored.

Just for the sheer number of drumsticks in the plate, this place deserves a visit! Specially with idlis, it is not very often that one finds a sambar that has a few vegetables too.

True that!
This sambar was different from the one they served with regular Idly, Dose, Vade; even that wasn’t the overly sweetened version we get at restaurants that pass them off as “Udupi” sambar.
