when do you get home in the evening?

Residence: G.B Road, Thane
Total distance: 45 kms (t0 & fro)
Start: 6.50 am Reach office: 7.15 am
Start office: 4 pm Reach home: 4.45 pm
Vehicle: Ford Fiesta

I do a 8 to 4 pm shift (IT support to South east asian & european clients) and manage to avoid the major traffic both the times. Guess I'm just lucky.

I live 40 Km away from my office, so leave home at 7.30 am, reach office around 8.30.
Evening, leave around 6.30-6.45 pm and reach by 8.30-9 pm depending on traffic (minimum 120 mins)

Leave home by: between 10-10:30am (sometimes if i am lazy, then its work from home)
Reach back by: depends (by 7pm, and work from home if required)
Duration of travel: about 15-20 mins even in peak times (~7 kms)

timings : flexible ,normally back home by 6-6.30pm
3 days in a week i work from home ;3 days office / market visit.
office : 18kms one way ;1hr min
warehouse:10kms one way;30min max
Market Visit : 30-60Kms one way .

However in my previous employment locations have always stayed with 3 km from office , saves lot of time , energy and ofcourse some $$$.

Office: Home based/Work from home
timings: flexible timing, however since i work for a US based company need to be online majority of time between 5 PM and 2 AM India time
Travel: Not much currently except local travel, say once in a week during off peak hours (relief from bangalore traffic).

Twice a week, i work from home (thats when i can ACTUALLY get some work done)
Rest of the days, start from home at 9AM and reach by 10:30

Evenings are pretty bad. If i leave at 7, i reach by 9. If i leave at 8, i reach by 9:15!!

Distance - 7 Kms while going to office, 8 Kms while going to home
Time taken - Max 15 mins each side irrespective of the time of the day, no chock-a-blok traffic, no endless waits at the red light.
Hell yes I can go home for lunch also If i want to

compare this to when I was in NCR and had to commute 28 Kms one way from Faridabad to Noida - we used to leave home at 9:30, reach at 10:45 after dropping wifey to work, started off at 7:30 PM picked wifey on the way back and were home by 9:00 - 9:30 PM...dead tired

Distance to office : 10km

leave home 9.15/9.30 am, takes about 20-25 mins to reach work
leave office around 7.15/7.30 pm, takes 30mins to get back

During Dec, Jan & Feb (lean months due to reduced tea production)
we leave an hour earlier

The best part about the driv eto work is the 2.5 odd km stretch of low traffic road where i can touch 100 everyday

it includes a flyover, and then on Strand Road, alongside the Hoogly river.
and ends at Eden Gardens.
