Raj,

Buy the Scoche universal steering interface and your Steering controls would work. Costs about 4k now in India with warranty. Just double check that the guy who does the installation has done it for some scorpio's earlier. or else, you might end up with a ECU error code & immobilizer kicks in!(like I did :-))

This is a Scorpio SLX that was white in colour and was involved in a serious accident about two years ago. It had collided with a bus and the Scorpio driver was killed and some occupants injured. I had seen it in that condition but did not take pictures.
The SUV has been repaired -its two right doors, door glasses, right body panels, bonnet, grille ,windscreen and wheel rims were all replaced A,B pillars roof section and many. many other components repaired and/or dented.
The replaced parts are not new but sourced from used Scorpio sources. The SUV has been repainted in this colour and the front grille is metallic blue, while the air fins behind the grille are metallic maroon, both from different Scorpios.
I salute the ingenuity of Babubhai who's doing its restoration. Today some more such used spares (mainly engine components) have arrived from Mumbai.
The side plastic claddings come as a set and need some 400 plus holes to be drilled all over. The claddings are new from a M&M spare source and cost Rs 11000. These were fitted as per the owners needs but Babubhai advised anyone not to go for these due to the moisture traps inside between the claddings and the body that may cause body corrosion sooner or later. The original SUV had these claddings which were destroyed in the accident and some of the doors and panels that were sourced did not have pre drilled holes.

so i think he has purchased a CRDe scorpio LX & replaced the bumper with the older one (maybe he dint like the new bumper) & also changed the bonnet to the mHawk one.
Hey raj, no mine is the 2.6 crde lx , as it was a 2008 end (november) model i think they had changed over to the new scoops. The 2.2 mhawk became a standard model in early 2009 if i am correct.

Ive made no changes to the exteriors of the vehicle apart from the wheels, which i feel on a scorp are a must. Not only do they add to the look of the car at higher speeds offer much needed stability.

cheers guys

Ksingh

I have my mHawk from July 2008 with 2.2 engine, so I guess mHawk 2.2 existed as a standard model a lil before I purchased mine.

Standard across all variants, thats what he meant. And yes, early 2009 is when this happened.

the mHawk was launched in Feb 2008, i bought mine in april 2008.

no wonder Ksingh's CRDe has the mHawk's bonnet. he bought a CRDe in Nov. 2008 even though there was the mHawk available. but i was not aware that even the CRDe used to get the bigger scoops then. sorry that that singh.

Thanks Raj and RedLiner for the genesis! I love the mHawk power, nevertheless!! Good decision to move from Crde to mHawk(albiet at loosing a lot of red coloured notes!)

nice pics Ksingh!
I remember you picked up your Scorp in 2008 just around/ a bit after when I got mine - I remember you asking whether the LX 2.6 Crde was worth it.Mine is identical but a different colour - same bonnet scoop, tower tail lamps/reflectors, similar alloys, the older radiator grille (non-refreshed and without the silver tuning fork in the middle) etc.
Its only in 2009 (around April or so) that they made the 2.2 Mhawk the standard engine across all variants and left the prices also pretty much untouched.

Thats coool Raj. Some pictures look fit for the Vintage and Classic Car Section-these look like a Scorpio flashback. Maybe its true about four or five decades from now, when these will feature in Vintage Car Rallies.
