Hi WanderNomad,
The grill looks real cool, are they readily available in Delhi or you got it custom built.
If they are available off the shelf I would like to pick one up when I am in Delhi next week. |
hi m_upreti, the grill is available at Bhasin motors, south extension part 1, new delhi.
Hi everyone,
I recently bought (Nov 2008) a 2.6 Crde base model scorpio in delhi. Since then I have done about 3200 kms till date.
Due to work ive been out of the city for about 4-5 weeks between november and now. The car in the meanwhile is being used by my sister and her family.
I got a call yesterday from the driver saying that some smoke was coming from the underneath the car, since i wasnt in delhi i asked him to call the dealership helpline and they sent their mechanice.
After having a look he said it was due to the new clutch plate and was common in new scorpios.
Anyway ive been on the phone with the driver all day today, hes been driving the scorpio and says there is no problem now.
I just wanted to know from fellow scorpio owners here, if anyone has ever encountered such a problem, or heard of this kind of an issue.
Unfortunately im not in delhi so am freaking out a bit.
cheers for your inputs
Kundan
Hi,
Finally some update from A.S.S. guys & Mahindra after pullling some strings, thanks to one of our TBHPian with M&M.
1. All issues related squeaking, in the brakes & body have been resolved.
This has been reconfirmed by the Mahindra Engineer after his TD.
2. Security system remote issue and settings have been taken care. The
Nippon engineer spoke and confirmed that the auto rearm on ignition &
all door close state has been activated and so has the impact sensor
which has been set to medium.
3. For the gear slippage issue the Gear Box is being replaced with a new
one, should be done by today evening.
4. Front wheel creaking has been taken care of.
5. Wiper arm replaced.
I will visit the A.S.S. once the gear box is replaced & check all the things.
I will update on the details of the rectification done for the other issues once I visit & discuss what all has been done.

Hi Raj,
No updates, the Service guys are not responding... |
thats pretty good friend. glad to hear that all issues have been solved.
a new gearbox means that the problem was something major. anyways, i am glad to see that they replaced it with a new one instead of trying to rectify it and give new problems.
hope you have a smooth ride hereafter.
Gear box replacement - now that is a major one!
I hope that all issues are sorted and you get your ride as it was supposed to be - in perfectly condition.
All the best, m_upreti.

Gautam this thread is only for Scorpio and do not disturb by getting the Xylo into this thread, there are other threads where Xylo is being discussed.
Hope you find them on the forum or go through this link -

Good for you!
Wonder whether similar response would have been given to a customer without the pull & the strings!? :)

Deep, what is there to be said?
Having spent all our money buying a Scorpio, I, for one, simply do not have any left to be looking at the Xylo or the mHawk!!
You will not find a single post from me on that Xylo thread! clap:
Moreover, I'm HAPPY with my 2.6 CRDe 4WD!!

Anup Sir, I don't own a Scorpio (wish I could) and can't buy one soon as there is no money for the purchase :-) ...but it never curbs my enthusiasm for Scorp & I have regularly been participating in almost every discussion/thread on Scorp.
Cheers!!! :)

Thanks All,
I am told that this issue is the first to be reported for Scorpio mHawk.
M&M is going all out to have this investigated in depth, and some of the people who matter are expected to have it looked for the reasons and solutions.
But, my research on Google threw up the same issue with some other cars, with the same solution Gear Box replacement.
The dealer does not have the part in stock so it is expected to arrive tomorrow from Mahindra, I have waited so one more day is not much of a bother, if it resolves the problem for good.
As far as the A.S.S. go I am not complaining since they resolved all the other issues in 2 days, the only issue was update on the progress.
As far as the "pull & string" is concerned I am fortunate enough to be a part of TBHP where our friend in M&M is an active participant so again it is the customer friendly aproach & quick response I got makes me doubly sure that I chose the right vehicle from the right company.

I guess if you were knowing then you would not have started posting on this thread regarding the Xylo,
This is a open forum and we need to see to that the thread is not going out of topic.
Please stick to the thread and do not post other than the required, i think you can understand.
