Happy new year guys :)

Used to Get up at 0200 am and study till 0600 am.

That was in college times.
The night study always helped.

I feel night is the time when I can be most productive. Why should we slog & slave in hot humid conditions when it is so much better & cooler in the night ?

People who can't sleep due to stress, tension, anxiety, insomnia etc. which create havoc in life, just apply a drop of pure sandalwood oil between both the eyebrows and you will see the overall difference.:)

Is is the acoustics or... :D

Me too, a very light sleeper.

cant sleep before 1,30 am and hav to wake up at7.00 am problematic on holidays and at sleepovers probably carried over from med school days

Going to sleep right now and would be waking up at around 7:00 pm. Tired of this BPO life :(

Am on off today but just woke up and signed to the Forum. It's as addictive as ever. Anyone else awake right now??

Foby - You working today?

being up right now is an aberration to the norm. 2:30 is late/early enough to sleep by.
apparently sleeping less than 4-5 hrs a day is NOT good for health. Docs on the forum pls ratify.

Slept at 12 and up at 3.50. Am not that bad regularly but still sleep only 12 and get up by 5. This less sleep thingy has carried over from Engg College Days.

I understand from the recent reports regarding the SAP CEO's death that any sleep that is less than 8 hrs is not good for the body. Will find and post the article.

You're right , i read that article about 2-3 weeks back. Here is a link highlighting the ill effects of taking less sleep

Ranjan Das SAP CEO’s Sudden Death: Lack of Sleep Kills | Fitness and Health Blog

Lucky are those who sleep before 10:30 PM and get 8 hours of sleep. I am trying my best to shift my sleep by 1 hour, so that I go to bed at 10:30 than 11:30

Oh dear... trying to get to grips with something called DPC latency, which is what I think is causing me sound-card problems on the PC (I have a lot of it) and stayed up until 6.00am. slept until midday.

Haven't been able to sleep for 3-4 days before 4:00 - 5:00 am. Just keep lying down in the dark and then after getting bored tune into Two and a Half Men or some other sit com. Really need to sleep but I don't want to take medication. Does any one has any idea how can I reset my circadian clock ? please: I saw flashes today so I am putting the keys down for some days till I get my mind right.

I had this recently getting things planned and done for my daughters arangetram. Was sleeping at 5 in the morning. It started causing me headaches and dizziness. Went to a doc and he diagnosed it as vertigo and 8mg vertin for 7 days at night set my circadian clock back. A few years back when I was traveling a bit more frequently between India and the US I had a similar problem and the doctor gave me a sleeping pill which was non-addictive and he said it was specifically for people with the timezone problem. Forgotten the name though.

I saw a brilliant research documentary on DW TV on the effects of late nights, shift work and the disruption of the body rhythms. It was aired about two weeks back. The effect of artificial light on the body/mind and lack of exposure to sunlight. Amazing, and have been trying to find the YouTube link but have been unsuccessful so far.

Sorry for multiple edits: read recently that if you blink your eyes rapidly for about a minute, the eyelids get tired and influence sleep!!
