Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

I can also see the interest credited for last FY, finally.

Meanwhile, on higher pension option, I read this in TOI which I generally don't find trustworthy and sensationalise news but EPFO is equally capable of pulling these type of stunts.

I was ok if the month was same, but even in Jan it shows no change in the total amount. So had me wondering/worried.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Can anyone tell me that for the year 2021-2022, when was the interest credited? I ask this because between 2019 (Aug)-2022 (Jan) I was in Company1 which was initially exempt and was maintaining trust for managing PF. But somewhere around July 2021, they became non-exempt so now the EPFO manages the PF accounts.
Now when I got to EPFO passbook website and check the passbook, I see my contributions from Aug 2019 to Jan 2022 which is fine. But the Company2 where I moved to in Jan 2022 is exempt so my PF is yet to be transferred (due to various issues). But the passbook for 2021-2022 has absolutely no mention of any interest being credited and I fear I lost interest amount somewhere.
Can anyone clarify what am I missing or where to look.

PS: My previous company (inspite of being one of the WITCH ones) is useless here and not helping.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

PF site has a new look and feel. It is slow compared to earlier.

Govt has announced 8.15 % as interest rate for this year.

For me the interest for 21-22 has not been credited yet.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

In order to withdraw PF money, do we need to show some proofs? I am at my wits end while transferring my PF from my previous company to current and all my claims are getting rejected left right and center with exact same reasons.

There are couple of other colleagues in my current Org who too came from same old organization and faced the same issue and they submitted the application to update service history in the EPFO office (akurdi, Pune) personally. I am not in Pune so I sent a registered mail to them to update the same and they seem to have done for me too. I confirmed in a zoom call they keep on weekly basis but still my claim was again rejected.

Thus, I want to just take money out of my previous account but seems that I cannot just ask for it like that. Is there a way out or how much max can I take out without any additional documents?

Did you try initiating an online withdrawal claim? If not, try doing it & see if it is accepted.

EPFO declares ROI for FY 22-23 at 8.15%. Up from 8.1% for FY21-22.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

I had opened PPF account in my son's name (minor) and my wife as guardian, in SBI. The maturity is another 6 years away.

Now that I am planning to use the money for his education, the bank says I cannot do 100% withdrawal but only partial amount. If I understand correctly complete withdrawal is possible for medical and educational needs.

Why is SBI not allowing the withdrawal?

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Now that Debt funds are also looking pale thanks to the Union government, is PF the only sensible investment under 80 C ? Apart from NPS ?

I just tried and it by default shows 2022 date as my service start which is my current employer's date. There is no option to change it and only option is "PF Advance".

Have been trying to transfer since last one year and it has been horrible. I plan to go to local EPFO office but no clue if they will help.

The new look EPFO website seems to be riddled with issues. I cannot see Passbook of my previous org PF Number which I was able to before. Also, my birthdate is wrong, the month specifically.

I went on the "for employees" website and it is correct there.
