re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Would anyone know why one would suddenly find previously OK levels of sugar to be too much all of a sudden? I already had a low tolerance for sugar and I would sometimes eat only half a gulab jamun or rasagolla and stop. All of a sudden, for the past 2 weeks, I find even the tea I drink (two cubes) to be too sweet and have reduced it to one cube. My tongue refuses anything sweet and I start to cringe.

Why?

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

So my fiance slipped her disc in Feb this year. The Doc asked her to take a month long of rest and then take it easy. Now I'm not really sure about this doctor as he is least interested in answering questions. He used to call us to different clinics or hospitals where he used to consult. (He used to consult in 5 hospitals and 2 clinics in a day). So I'm looking out for a second opinion as these days she's feeling some back-ache. Can someone suggest a trusted doctor in Bangalore?

Simple myocardial hypertrophy ( a.k.a Left ventricular hypertrophy/LVH) is very different from the genetic condition known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy(HCMP). what is your exact diagnosis ?

My aunt is complaining of back pain in between the lower & upper areas. She also has some burning sensation in her upper abdomen. This sensation starts at evening and maxes out at night. Then reduces again from morning. This burning thing is felt to be closer to the skin and not deep inside. At least that's how i can express it in words. Patient has no medical complications as of now.

Attaching a edited pic from Wikipedia to give approx idea. Circles indicate area affected.

Nice to see a TED speech from someone I know. I am sure many here know him too, as students and colleagues. Rest of you can read about him here.

This talk is about medicine, but in a very different way.

Have met him and heard him speak. I believe that what he has is neither Eastern nor Western, but a kind of common sense.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Three months ago I was at a family event felicitating a 100 year old lady, and he happened to give a speech as he knew her since he was a kid. He gave many examples for why people of that family lived very long.

He said they avoided doctors and medicines, that's the primary reason. He gave many other reasons, I can't remember it now.

The title of the first talk I heard him give was How to stay healthy by avoiding doctors. But, as those who know him know already, people should not mistake: he is a doctor, and a highly qualified one at that. This is not some uninformed rant about alopathic medicine!

My 6 year old autistic son has managed to put a paper piece into his ear. My wife took him to ENT doc we know, who also has an autistic son. Since my son won't offer any co-operation, doctor was unable to remove it. Now he has suggested gas anesthesia to sedate the kid before the next attempt. He feels it is too deep to try anything when the kid is awake and struggling.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Just reached Bangalore and removed it in a minute.

The ENT is also a parent of autistic kid, that's how we know him. So he knew only parents can do this task when the child is awake. Because it was the same story every time we had to give a haircut or cut nails, or even brush the teeth. Only parents of autistic kids know the special struggles we have to go through to do simple everyday things.

So the ENT lent his long instrument to us. Once I reached Bangalore, I managed to pull out the rolled up tissue paper within a minute. It was rather big, what is seen in the photo is just the tip. The long instrument was a great help. If this hadn't worked, we had to knock him out him using general anesthesia. Just sedation never works with him, he fights even under sedation, we know that from past experiences.

PS: Now he looks very relieved. After we reported the success, the ENT prescribed antibiotics and painkiller for two days just in case.

Re: Infertility Clinics/Doctors in B'lore?

Could you please suggest about best infertility clinics/doctors in Bangalore? Prefer it to be around south of Bangalore. This is for a relative, and she had twice undergone the IVF procedure at Kamini's clinic without any success.

Please advise!

is pentaxim safe & works ? (child vaccination)

any paediatrician around ?

my child got her first DPT 2 week back and scheduled for next shot at end of this month.

at time of first shot doc gave option of painless vs pain and we selected painless, resulted pentaxim was given with HEP-B shot.

now i have read mixed content on pentaxim over web, so have few questions , if anyone have idea and answer these will be great help for us.

- most important , does pentaxim work ? there is some content which mentioned its not used in USA any more and full cellular vaccine is used.

- its not WHO approved. couldn't verify this claim

- if its not recommended can we switch to "easy five" now ?

- its recommended by docs just to make money as its expensive and they get large cut in it.true ?

Thanks for reading and all help.
