Tejas
I got my upper left premolar extracted today morning.I was asked not to have any warm food for 24 hrs,but I started smoking about 3 hours later. I am otherwise ok,but there was oozing till about late afternoon, whenever I smoked.I had three ice creams since the extraction and I started feeling queezy, lolz.
What are the precautions I should take ? Now,don't start by telling me to quit smoking!

As a rule, dark skinned people have white teeth and fair individuals have yellower teeth. Remember that.
I guess dark-skinned people's teeth appear to be whiter than those of fair-skinned ones. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Don't brush from that side today. From tonight, start with warm salt water gargles for 4-5 days (3times a day). Just observe the wound and make sure there is a blood clot stable out there and hasn't been dislodged by the smoking. If it has been dislodged and you can see bone, go back to the dentist and get the area curetted to induce bleeding and a new blood clot to be formed there. Absence of a blood clot, where the underlying bone is exposed to the oral cavity may lead to a condition called "dry socket" which is very painful. That's why dentists always ask not to spit after extraction so that the clot is not dislodged.

No, its not an optical illusion. They don't appear to be whiter, they are actually 2-3 shades whiter. The color difference just exaggerates it.

Genetics. This is written on page one in all dental textbooks. No one knows why darker people have whiter teeth. That's why in medical terms it's called "idiopathic". Which means no explanation, maybe an idiot can come up with one...

Although I am well aware of this, I am still addicted to hard brushes. (like a smoker LOL) Somehow I get satisfaction only if I use a hard brush, must be something to do with how it exfoliates my gums. One of these days I need to quit

Where is Rippergeo ? called that poor bhpian 2 weeks back at an unworldly hour to ask a an urgent question regarding 2 friends(my audio installers) who had met with an accident with my bike, but sadly one didn't make it and the other's been in the ICU eversince,
My question is what really happens when Bone Marrow gets into blood stream ?

I had one of my wisdom tooth extracted around 2 years back and there is still no sensation in one side of my tongue , but it was very much explained to me by Dr.Pullokaran in one Teambhp meet.

i cant understand your query.
only bone marrow cells enter the blood and that too in blood cancers.

Because there is a market for it- some people will insist only on a hard and medium brush. Same logic applies to why manufacturers make those aeroplane type spoilers. Because there are always people who want to use them to get their cars in the weird and wacky thread.
And you need to quit both smoking and the hard brush.

Since you are a dentist frank, here's my answer: for your gums, apply some petrol on the gums and start smoking a cigarette. since your "teeths" are also paining, you need to apply vicks/iodex to your "tits" for instant relief!

Is it solved or if not, tell me more details?
