I believe in minimalism, utilitarian, cheap and classy stuff. So, I got a Casio round dial Youth Series world map watch.

3 reasons to buy:
It is a Casio
It is cheap (around Rs. 3,200/-)
And it has Protrek vibes

It has been going strong for 4 years and there is hardly any time I remove it. I even wear it while I bathe.

Future: I wish to own a Tissot PRX Gold watch as my daily wear.

I have prx chronograph as my first luxury buy.

Had a disappointing encounter with ethos though.
The watch had a hard winding crown. On handing over for inspection, they didnt correct the issue and scratched the beautiful metal bracelet. Have raised complaint with support but no effect.

Seems like they are just profiteering on new gen watch buyers.

Million dollar question. Do let me know if you come across any leads. the Rolex drama continues unabated to my knowledge. Dont know of any authentic grey market dealers in India.

Tissot PRX Powermatic80 Green

I was eyeing Seiko Alpinist but decided to check the Tissot Boutique in the same mall. The green dial had just reached India. In fact, Ethos guys weren’t even aware of a Green Prx at that point. Given the rich deep shade of green and the relative uniqueness (at that point), I decided to go for it. Been over a year with this watch now, and I love its versatility. Goes equally well with business suit and jeans. Have ordered OEM rubber straps for it. Should receive it by next month.

Seiko Laurel SPB359

This was a totally unplanned purchase. Went to buy another watch (again the Alpinist) but somehow didn’t like it as much as I liked it the last time. The dealer told me that he has the last piece of Seiko Laurel in India tucked away in their storage. I had read about Laurel and was quite fascinated by the reissue but was skeptical about how it would look on my 7.9” wrists. The bund strap and thick case help it appear larger than its 37 mm diameter. Spoke to an avid watch collector friend (AZ911) to walk me out of spending so much on a Seiko. He instead gave me reasons to buy it and helped me get some discount as well.

This is a reissue of Laurel (First Japanese wrist watch). Just love the classic timeless design, particularly, the enamel dial and breguet numerals.

Seiko Peanuts SRPK25



A recent acquisition. A limited edition that wasn’t launched in India so, got it through a friend from Singapore. It is overpriced for basically a Seiko 5 sports but I wanted a Snoopy in my collection. More so because of my real life snoopy (Beegu).

Casio G-Shock GM2100

A robust tool watch that feels built to last and looks good. Replaced the OEM green strap with Orange to experiment with colours. May move back to green.

HMTs

Of all the HMTs I have, the Kohinoor Yellow and the Pilot Black are my favourite. Possibly the best value for money one can get. These are a bit small for my wrists but pairing them with bund strap and NATO straps improve the wrist feel. HMT of late has become a rage and mechanical watches get sold within seconds of listing. Makes one cherish these watches even more.

Will share better pics of rest of the HMTs later.

Ethos second movement usually has good and fairly new pre owned pieces. Rest is plain luck. Dubai was way easier in that sense.
