How much was it. Even I got mine last month for 48K in Bangalore.

I now have my eye on this one https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-in/T1494071105100.html

It's a new re issue of the old James Bond Roger Moore watch. So tempting with the 38mm size and clean dial.

Posting some from my collection

The Bangalore Watch Company Flieger - Mach 1 - I wanted to get the blue one but it was out of stock. I wear it more often that I thought I would - it sits comfortably and has great lume

The Tag F1 Gulf - daily beater because don’t have to bother winding. The colors really pop on this one and is a rather affordable substitute for the Monaco

Have a few more - will post.

And the watch I have been craving and hope to score at some point - the Haley’s comet of watches

Available only in Japan
Via a lottery system
Requires a Japanese credit card
And a Japanese delivery address

Lots of gates to open to get one at retail. Prices in the secondary market are obviously ridiculous.

It’s the Otsuka Lotec No 6

It should pique some interest on this forum since the designer is a former automotive industrial designer and the watch is an automotive nod to dashboard gauges

I got my one at 48K as well :D
Such an amazing watch in person!

That Tissot looks so nice. But i better get off this thread, added 5 watches alone this year haha.

I had my eye on a Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch for a while now, or in the alternative the latest 2024 FOIS (First Omega in Space) but had thought I’ll pull the trigger a year or two later, having just picked up a few watches already in the last 12 months.

Per chance came upon a barely used June 2024 purchase of a Hesalite Moonwatch at a very marked discount to the official MRP and promptly picked it up - my first used watch TBH but it was almost brand new, sold by someone I know at Ethos and given the steep discount to a new one, I decided to pull the trigger. Literally in mint box piece condition. The owner had even purchased the black and grey nato second strap that was originally given as a second strap in the box (but no longer provided). This watch runs on the latest 3861 movement.

Some pics below. I’m currently using it with the NATO strap just to have one watch with a slightly different look.

That’s the full collection for now then. So the CFB Manero Flyback is running a steel bracelet, the Grand Seiko is running a brown leather one, the Seiko Alpinist a vintage racing sort of leather strap and this Moonwatch is running the nato.

It is quite a strap monster itself and I might in due course supplement it with a nice black leather as well as a brown leather strap. The look I have in mind for the brown strap is in the image below that (I think, IIRC) I caught from Watch Gecko.

Oh wow that is a coincidence on the price. I got 2 this year and if I get the Tissot will be 3 lol.

Dammit.....this thread is dangerous!

Hey nice band. I am guessing it’s 18mm ? Where did you get it from ?

Been a while since I posted here. Some changes in collection.

A couple of latest procurements and some consolidations helped me finish my core box. I eventually want a killer diver (owned a smp300 but want to level up), the easiest to take out of collection may be GS as I could supplement a dressy case with either the zenith or speedy.

I bought this one-off Casio Model - MTP-M305L

The casing has the shape and dimension of a smart watch, but its the standard quartz movement inside. Some folks call this the parody watch of earlier generation of Apple Watch. Fairly unique for a Casio in the recent times.

Bought this for the strap color combo. Working good so far. Although a tiny bit of crack on the glass is there because it fell down few months ago. Not too big, nor small. Fits well and looks fit for my slim arm. :D

Solid watch to go with all occasions.

Considering the MRP of the watch is 62k and if my maths is correct, is it usual to have 22% discount on a Seiko ? I don't think they have this sort of discount here in Mumbai as I have been eyeing a Presage since some time.

On an average all Seiko models have 20-25% off while Grand Seiko has 30% off.
Try Ethos via their website to get a quote first and then visit the store and make the purchase. I had a word with Ethos and they offered me 22% on my speedtimer while 30% on Grand Seiko.

But I made the purchase via an AD of Seiko in Kolkata because they had the exact spec I wanted and they matched the discount offered by Ethos.

I have infact placed an order for a Presage through longislandwatch.com & shipped it to a US address where my Aunt stays as she's flying down to India next month.

Was recently gifted this MTG . Lovely watch. Joins a few other G-shocks, a couple of maurice lacroix's and an assorted set of 15 other watches. This is a keeper.

I am eyeing for the FAVRE-LEUBA SKY CHIEF CHRONOGRAPH, which will be first Swiss watch for me. Any recommendations to be considered while buying this from our watch connoisseurs will be much appreciated.

It is true that watch straps/bracelets can really change the entire feel of the watch. Sometimes it can also subside the itch to get a new watch and that can in turn be rather nice for your bank balance. :)

For eg. My Seiko 5 sports on the original Nato strap was super comfy but chunky! So i switched from the original Nato strap to a 2 piece Omega James Bond style nato strap from Invella. This changed the feel as the watch now sat much slicker to the wrist. Although not as comfortable as the original nato, it made up by the way it looked!

Here is a picture for reference.

But then i came across Jubliee bracelets that were compatible to Seiko 5 SRPD and I LOVED the way these looked in pictures online.

Although there are cheaper jubliee bracelets options available online. For Eg. Invella has one priced around 2k and so does Argos but these were hollow end link bracelets and according to most reviews, they felt rather cheap and light. So i was on the look out to get higher quality ones for my watch, ones with solid end links and something that felt premium enough to spend so much energy on.

Turns out, none of the Indian brands/online webshops sold solid endlinks jubliee bracelets, so my only option was to buy from an international store.

I shortlisted two options:

a) Namoki Mods
b) Strap Code

I went ahead with Namoki Mods because some close friends had ordered custom Seiko mods from them and were very happy.

So finally went ahead and ordered this

I selected their free shipping option which took a good 2.5 weeks to get to me and so it did a few hours back!

Which watch do you own?-nato.jpg

Priced at about 5.5K, i was a bit worried about custom duties on this but
Namoki declared the price to be just 6 Singapore Dollars so it came through without any fuss.

The best part about swapping to this new bracelet was the quick release pins on my 2 piece nato strap, the worst part was fitting the Jubliee bracelet.

Which watch do you own?-jubllee-flat.jpg

It took a good 30 mins for me to realise that the pins provided with the bracelet was not for SRPD model which i had but rather SKX series. Their website clearly mentions this and suggests that we use the original Seiko pins which i had with my Nato strap.

Another 15 mins and it was finally done!

Here is how it looks:

In person, this looks so so nice! The polish is top notch, the quality feels amazing and so does the quality of the clasp. I need to resize by removing a few links but really happy with the result!
