Exactly. They have really nice designs & i guess the only "famous" American manufacturer so I had tried to be different :)
Paid the price with it losing it's overall look within a year & the steel strap breaking away when clapping (furiously) during an old international cricket match at the Sharjah stadium (pretty old match).

Bulova is another American co which has some really nice designs at reasonable prices. I have one of their Chronos for the past 4 years, and it's works like a charm.

Bulova

Vikram

No authorized dealership / store in India as per their website. Did you pick up yours locally or from the US?

How much is this watch going to cost you? I had to google up the brand. Guess stupid: in the area of watches cause I didn't know both the brands mentioned on this page.

Yeah just went through Wiki. Didn't know about the brand. Didn't know it's this famous & got such a long history or guess i must have heard the name before & thought it was Swiss. Nice watches.

agree: one of the good looking G-Shock.
The only difference is that borders inside the dial are in golden, yours in full black. what the model no ?

the one i want has an MRP for 5995 - but there are offers which are giving between 15-20% off across stores in Delhi , so net payout would be about 5000.

Close to the one seen here
Skagen Denmark Mens Steel Watch

My wife got it for me from the US. Don't remember what the retail price was, but the watch was on sale and cost her $105.

It's the one on the extreme left here:

Thanks for the clarification. Quite the looker , love the color contrast between the primary and secondary dials.

Functionality wise, definitely yes. What we can see is only the first screen here. It has 2 more (each showing 4 information like elevation, speed, direction, heart-rate zone, lap time, distance, blah blah), and then 1 map tracing your trek, one digital compass that keeps pointing you to next waypoint, approaching turn/steep elevation etc. Overall it is a geek's toy more than an exercise assistant (actually it can double up as a personal trainer and gym buddy). Also it can generate graphs like below, and you can guess how many times I hit potholes during my Pondy-Bangalore drive back.

Agree with mayankk. That's one cool watch. I dont like all the shiny, hands and stuff. I like simple easy to read in big block letters watches. I dont have to rake my brains to know the time.

Where can I get one at that price in India? Or is it not possible?

Yes the main screen is designed to scream the time (or whatever you configure). They improved the form factor in next version (405), which is slimmer. Remember the battery life is 10 hours with GPS/heart monitoring so just like your android phone you have to charge it every night (hence not suitable for daily casual use).

Regarding price/availability, I got a good deal ($125) from amazon.com (and USD was cheaper) when they launched 405, they offered a big discount on 305 for a brief period. And incidentally I was in US for a month then. Now the price is $150. I didn't search in India, but I see 20north.com is listing it for 11619/-

So best bet is you/a friend visiting US and carry it back from there.

This is my recent acquisition. It is a Casio G-Shock G-7710-1ER. It is a digital version and looks cool.

I am not really into watches, but I impulsively picked this up earlier this year.

Any experience in buying the Casio Edifice models online here in India? Has anyone purchased them from ebay.in? :D

Any Indian online store which gives authentic models with good prices?

I saw couple of them. With 15K-20K you get pretty basic designs of those watches. With Xylys you get some real good designs. So anyone knows anyone who has a Xylys? I would love to know their views.

I have a Xylys and it was gifted 2 years back on my wedding. Have to say I just love it even today and it handles daily use/ abuse really well. I was looking at a Tissot (actually was very particular of a Swiss make) and had finalized one as well but when I show this option I just went for it. BTW it was a little below half price than that of the other one. So check out Xylys before making your decision on a "Swiss Made" watch!
