I saw couple of them. With 15K-20K you get pretty basic designs of those watches. With Xylys you get some real good designs. (My POV. Not sure if you like it or not) Also the fact that it's Titan's initiative to make swiss made watches, it's turning out to be quite appealing.

So anyone knows anyone who has a Xylys? I would love to know their views.

Quite different, xylys and edifice.
I found xylys to be more workplace oriented.
refined, sort of.
less chunky, less chance of having the cuff of your shirt catching, and making a mess of a suits sleeve fall.
I was picking them out year, but i found them too staid, as i like to have more dials than i can point all my fingers at...:D
got a couple of expeditions instead.
Titans are like a gale ki ghanti in lasting though.

For a formal watch, youre better off with this.

I do not own Xylys but had seen many of their designs. 2-3 from my friend circle own them, they were priced 15-20 K. They are much better than Edifice and Fossil according to me. Xylys use SWISS movements and according to experts they are better than others. As you said they have some cool looking time machines!

they sell, so someone IS buying them, so they CAN end up here.

16k was the price more than 3 years back. I got it for much cheaper ( cant reveal the actual price ) after the employee discount

Not an issue, i got it as a gift and no one would gift a 2.5L watch to anyone, atleast to a 20 year old, thats why i put a grin smiley in my post.

I like it, its a good quality replica :D

Thanks @Mayankk and Latheesh! Went to the showroom yesterday. Picked one for my brother. Will upload the pic when he wears it on his hand :)

Just ordered a Seiko SNZH27. Already delivered to my brother in US, now waiting for it to be sent over.

Got the watch today, and there's something very machine-like about it. All black, with white markings & a red second-hand. The clicks when the crown is operated sounds so sweet. Build feels solid. Box & manual look very original. Warranty stamp is by the dealer (it's a grey-market item in US).

Did get a bit of a tense moment when the time did not seem to hold. Called the local service center, who said the winding may hot have happened & that I need to wear it a bit. Seems to be holding for sometime now.

One thing I was hoping in this one was a manual winding mechanism (some automatics seem to have this). But this feature is not there.

Here's another pic, taken off the web:

Parwath, what you ordered is the famous SEIKO 5 series.
Seiko's mechanical watches are highly prized by collectors—from the Seiko "5" series (the 5 reflects the five essential features of the watch, namely shock resistant, water resistant, automatic, and day and date display)... From Wikipedia.

I bought mine few months ago from here. The brightest luminous aquamarine green I've ever seen.. Hence the shot. :D

Rudra, thanks for that .. saw your FB post first, and then came over here to see this post. :)

Guess the movement in these two is the same 7S36. Had not got a chance to see it before ordering it, but now it's growing on me.

There's so much precision engineering in these automatics. In recent times, there's CAD to help. But wonder how they did it when they first did it.

But I dont see why it should be prized by collectors. It's an automatic, from a company with a long heritage in watch making. It does not have the aura of a Swiss either.

I have a Franck Muller - Conquistador series watch, which is one of my prized possessions. Apart from that, I own an ESPRIT watch, a G-Shock & a Titan Edge.

I got a Tissot PRC 200

How were you able to decipher if this was a replica. Can you give some pointers to look out for while buying a watch...

The missus gifted me a nifty leather watch box last week to store my modest collection. She ordered it from Royal Images Catalogue : Shopping Made Easy - Online Shopping - 0% EMI with Free Shipping for Rs.1320. Some snaps below:
