My somewhat battered Citizen Promaster Wingman VI.

It has seen some pretty extreme sub-zero temperatures and pressures in unpressurised helicopter cockpits up to 21,500 feet.

Still maintains good accuracy (about 5 s drift every month from GPS satellite atomic time).

Has World Time display along with the usual functions in the digital portion- a whole heap of cities are included, including DST.

Appears to have been designed by an airliner pilot for use by aviators. Unlike the photo in which the display looks a bit fussy & cluttered, it actually is very easy and clean to read, including the 'reverse' Yellow LCD display.

It even has a working circular slide-rule for quick calculations in the cockpit, meant for sharp young fellas with good eye-sight- which I must confess at my age now with my not-so-sharp eyesight needs a magnifying glass:D.

An extremely practical & good buy, especially for an aviator, this model is still in production by Citizen, in certain areas.

Anybody has experience with Bentex watches and their price performance factor?

This is one of mine. The "James Bond" watch :D (Pierce Brosnan wore this model in "Die Another Day"). Picture taken in a high contrast setting.

Hello Folks,

I'm thinking about getting a Seiko 5 Sports watch [image attached below], model # SNZF11K1. The suggested price on the Seiko India website is Rs.12,800/-. A couple of dealers that I spoke to hinted that this price negotiable. So, realistically, what price should I expect them to come down to?

Normally you can expect anywhere between 20% - 35% discount, depending on the dealer and your negociation skills.

I personally like the Black Dial version.

Got myself this Fossil about two weeks back...

EDIT - This pic is off the Fossil website and what a coincidence, today actually happens to be the 18th..!

Thanks Aroy! My negotiation skills aren't very good, so I guess I should be happy if I can manage to get the dealer down to Rs.10,000. :)

I also like the Black dial model [SNZF17K1] a lot, but it wasn't listed on the Seiko India website [neither was model with the Blue dial, SNZF13K1]. However, it won't hurt to ask the dealer if he can order it for me.

Cheers,
Vikram

This is my collection..

1. Bought this Titan Orion last week for Rs.7500/- from E-bay only.

2. A four year old Titan Regalia.

3. This is an extremely rare West-End Swiss watch that belonged to my grand father who passed away 55 years ago when my father was just 5 years old.

4. My everyday watch- Timex Expedition.

Just got myself an Omega Constellation 38mm Chronometer. My old Speedmaster Professional from 1975 finally gave up the ghost, with a couple of damaged gearwheels which Omega service could not procure. The 38mm range uses a better movement Calibre 8500 as against the normal 2500.

Hi everyone. I was gifted an Omega seamaster 300m chrono diver by my wife in 2009.
It was bought in '09 and I don't remember having worn it even once ( too bulky and too damn expensive for a cheap guy like me!) and ever since have been looking at ways to dispose it.

Now I want to ask you, is there something like a second hand market for watches? If I were to put it up for sale would I get anything out of it?

Thanks 2500cc. will do it in an instant.
Like I said am a cheap guy! Spending money on a watch just doesn't go with me. After I had made enough fun of the watch, even my wife agreed that more than anything, I didn't suit the watch!!
