I was reading Debuda's travelogue and I wanted to set one of the pics posted in that thread as wallpaper, but the resolution is pretty low. I think we should allow uploading high resolution pics at least in travelogues and may be limit the number of pics that one can upload.

Reducing the size takes away the fun !

I am trying to understand is it the forum that restricts the resolution or user i uploaded low res pics

No skins where you can 'safely' keep a TBHP tab open in your desktop without your boss realizing what it is! The layout and image on top right corner of the page give it away pretty easily if seen on a daily basis and invites your boss to give more work to the guy with too much free time

Blue/Red themes actually made it look like yet another tech blog where I just ended up searching something

Please bring it back on for the needy.

Guys,

There are some important updates coming up on Thursday , our 9th birthday. The only two skins that go with the updates, and have our classic colours of red, black & white, are BHP Silver & BHP Black.

I'm sure you'll get used to BHP Silver / Black as all of us have who have already made the switch long back.

The reason for discontinuing Blue & Red are:

- Two more skins to manage (apply updates, features, codes etc.). With our software, you can't update just one template and be done with it. Even the smallest of changes need to be applied on all skins.

- A small minority of members use Blue (red has practically no followers). BHP Silver is the most popular skin and has an overwhelming majority of users (50+%).

- Some other reasons which I cannot mention on this thread until Thursday.

Let me know what you guys think and if you can live with Silver / Black. Please use it for 3 - 4 days before giving your final answer.

Please bring back 'Blue' skin. I don't find any difference between Black & Silver skin, both don't appear pleasant to my eyes.

Just curious, are the reduced character limit for Location field (15 char) and the 3-line restriction for signature field also inline with these changes?

Not sure when this changed but I remember both fields used to support longer content in the past but not anymore. It still supports for those who are yet to edit the profile after the new restrictions are in place I guess.

There is only a FILE-size restriction. I guess in this case, for convenience sake Debuda did reduce the image resolution (and therefore filesize).

Correct. If i'm not mistaken these settings were changed months back. Shorter signatures keep the forum neat and the location field prevents some formatting issues.

I can see that the Blue skin is back now. I have been on the blue theme for more than an year now as I find the black backround in the black/silver skins quite stressful for eyes.

If we really have to get rid of the blue/red and stick to the standard silver and black, I have a suggestion - if possible please update the silver skin's background into white.

Sorry guys, clearly an error in judgement on my part.

The Blue & Red skins have been reinstated.

However, I cannot promise that any new design updates will be applied to these old skins (you guys probably prefer it that way anyway).

Oh well, that was just a suggestion.
I personally felt that the black and silver themes are quite similar in appearance.

The current theme i have set is legible and is readable, so i guess i really wouldn't ask for a design change. However, i am sure you might have received this suggestion before, is there a possibility of integrating a chat applet with the current site? That aside, the site performance is more than satisfactory for me, so a big from my side to you guys!
