And offcourse the 1968 Austin Mini coopers S....(i want one of these real bad..)

The first movie my late grandfather ever took me to as a 6 year old...(20 years back....)

Saw it again last night after ages...very nostalgic..too many emotions...

With the opening song - "on days like these" by Matt Munro - love it!!!!

Anyone who hasn't watched this...GO GET IT...makes all other car movies look like a joke!!!!
I have a DVD of the same and agree with you that its a fantastic movie but, except for the minis all other cars you mentioned were just fleeting glimpses

Glimpses, YES but perfectly suited and play an important part in every scene..

The Miura was just perfect for the start..Dont think anything else would have done justice to the start. its just too beautiful..

The fiats did justice to show one of the biggest traffic jams in those days, cant imagine it with anything bigger than fiat 500s and 600s today.

The DB4 was essential to potray everything English.
Same with the Jags (one of the fastest production cars in those days and British made)

The couldn't have had the cliffhanger ending without the Bedford coach...

So, they were all important to the movie back then.

Am looking for a copy of the movie "Cannonball Run" starring Jackie Chan, Roger Moore, Burt reynolds etc.

For more info on the movie here is the linky : The Cannonball Run (1981)

I am unable to get a copy of this movie at the local movie rental joint. Have even tried Planet M and other stores but to no avail.

can anyone help me get this on vcd or dvd? Need it desperately.

Fast & Furious
Redline (I managed to get a unofficial copy from net)
Transporter
Days of Thunder
Khight Rider Series (Has any one spoken about it? This was my favourite series during my school days and may be the first car movie I ever saw. As it was telecasted on Bangladesh TV at that time and we did not have boosters to receive those signals I used to pile up at my friend's place for seeing the series. Even know I have the Khight Rider2 PC game loaded on my computer.)

i dont think redline will come to india . It's got bad reviews & the movie does not have any famous faces - the ENZO crash seems to be a gimmick to attract attention.

That is really better than most real time chases, however, there is more in a way a chase is filmed than the way races or potrayed, I believe, to make them more exciting.

The Best Car Movie I have ever seen has to be "GONE IN SIXTY SECONDS" (1974 original version). No other car movie comes close to it. trust me on this one. "VANISHING POINT" (1971 version) comes second in my list.

Other movies which contains car chase sequences that i liked are:
Bullit, Italian Job (old and new), Fast And The Furious, Matrix Reloaded.
