Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

I have seen some out of the box thinking, but this one tops the list in Parking Trick!

Funniest part is that it's a public road

Clicked this picture after watching this for months now. I cross this road almost every day and I have not seen the place without this car.

Don't know if this fits here, but I remembered this video from a while back where the car fits perfectly in this tiny space. It is in a way a kind of innovative approach too.

Re: Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

Got to love the creativity shown by the owners. The entire procedure of getting the cars in those tight spots needs a great amount of skill. One cm here or there and there could be damage to car and property. But if done properly, you save space. An added advantage is that in most cases, there is a low chance of the car getting stolen.

The Zen parking has to be my absolute favourite.

Here's another one I had come across a while back.

Up in Mussoorie (Landour), we were staying at a bank's guest house some years ago, where they had parking within the premises. This is the video of me taking out my Scorpio from the parking space, while the wife guided and filmed at the same time.

Curious about how I got the car in there? Well, I reversed it in 4wd low range (4L), and crawled up the slope inch by inch.

Eager to know how did the Baleno got there. The ladder in the pic is quite satirical

This reminds me of the car washes in the US. You align the wheels along a rail, put the car in neutral and it guides the car along a conveyer belt. Going by the posts here, it might not be a bad business to install such custom parking aids.

Re: Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

I have this uncanny ability to perfectly stick a car to the wall, so that my other car can drive through the gap (I hate one car blocking the car as it's a pain to take out the car on the inside). No matter which car, I can stick it to the wall & leave a gap in the millimeters.

Not weird, but surely the most beautiful parking spot in India?

I have a story to share about this Forester. It joined us for some Sunday fun, but obviously couldn't come everywhere with our proper 4x4s. So, we dumped it somewhere and continued offroading. An hour or two or three later, we totally forgot where we had parked the car! LOL. Imagine losing an actual car in the middle of nowhere:

Speaking of parking tricks. I notice the desi anti-rodent device.

Re: Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

I have a similar issue in my garage. It's extremely narrow. I have to stick it to one side of the wall so that I can get off the other side.

The old merc was an easy fit:

The jeep and Pajero are tight:

EDIT:

It's a long narrow garage. If the jeep and pajero need to be parked together then it's an mm precision!

Re: Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

Water pools in this portion of my parking area during the monsoon. This was the "temporary " solution I came up with to keep my wheels and tires from getting muck all over it.
Please excuse my dirty car it was the monsoon
And has anyone else heard of Barkley tires?

Re: Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

The struggles of parkings especially in cities like Mumbai can be very real! I know of someone who can very well afford the most luxurious cars upward of 60-70 lacs but they dont have one simple parking due to houses in old stand alone buildings.

And here I am who has a nice concrete enclosed parking measuring a 1000sqft which can house almost 3 cars ( and the flooring is marble, reason best known to dad) + 1 open parking in a compound , but no fancy car to brag about

I once thought of selling the enclosed parking and buying a nice car but dad said the car will go one day, the garage wont!!

Re: Weirdest parking tricks of Indians

My cousin brother's new Scorpio. He parks the car and gets out from the tailgate. The space is very narrow to open the Driver's door. If he parks the car so that the Driver's door opens, then the front gate doesn't close. He had a Santro earlier which used to fit perfectly in the available space.
