@gigy, That's very risky my dear friend, please do not do that again.

Btw, do you reset the trip meter after each tankful? If yes, then at 333km the fuel indicator shows at a very positive point

That explains it. For a moment I was stunned seeing the fuel gauge at 3/4ths implying 333kms done on about 12-13 litres (1/4th tank) of petrol. Now that would be a dream FE to have.

Ideally you should exchange cars with your dad.

just moved to a different band with the Civic. Touched 160kms/hr on the GQ from Bangalore to Chennai. There was this red Verna who was keeping up with me and actually overtook me around the 120 km/hr mark. (if it belongs to any BHPian here, no offence) Thought I'll see what the Civic can do... 160 was up in a flash.

Did not push further than that. Hit the same mark a couple of times but stuck with the 130-150 mark max.

I think the Civic can easily touch 175 without any hassles. The disc brakes with ABS gives a lot of confidence.

my speed zone has been between 120-135 on my matiz. i've just moved to the next zone..130-150+. Gimme some time and I'll get there. Was actually thinking about the meet in Chennai. Sat, Mar 24th. I was driving too fast to notice the track. :-)

No, that turned out to be because of the road. I actually had to do a quick lane change at 175 to avoid a truck. It was stable as a rock.

BTW, I didn't do this speed intentionally. I was following another car closely and happened to glance at the speedo. The other car was supposedly doing 180.

Yeah, at high speeds, its not often that we look at the speedo. Sometimes its surprising at what speeds we drive at only when we see the speedo.

My mom was cribbing that the digital meter was actually showing her current heart rate because of the speed. :-)
