Lol, a ferrari registered as a Taxi? Thats the first I am seeing... it has a stenciled (T) on the doors.

no no you dont get it!

in india the importing tax reduces if the car is registerd as a taxi to a hotel or company.

thats what all the guys with brains do these days and later we can get it back to private!

Well - soon after, I saw the car driven by the man who owns many ferrari's who owns a small resort in Kerala. The number plates turned white. IT was later impounded by the DRI who had it parked in the income tax department for a while. While it was there, it was carefully guarded by the owner's staff until all penalties etc were paid up

I know that it is done for saving on taxes (who in the right mind would use it as a taxi) but still it just looks stupid to have the Taxi symbol on a Ferrari. Rich people who buy cars just for status would go the RR or Bentley way and rich people who are status conscious and also want a performance car at the same time would go for ferraris IMO. So, again IMO, a true connoisseur would rather pay the extra tax and get a white import than get that (T) on his ferrari. But again, if it can be converted back to private ownership in a short period the may be it makes sense.

Anyway, evading tax by importing cars as taxis is of no use these days as the IT department has wisened up. A former Bengal CM's sons yellow Gallardo (said to be one of the first in India), Sunil Shetty's Hummer, a UP ministers Bentley and several other imports have been impounded last year by the IT for tax evasion. The Gallardo was released after paying 1 Cr in taxes

It was a land cruiser actually belong to the WB CM's son. A Gallardo was impounded also.

Lets move back to Kerala now!

The first ML320 CDI in the country is for Kerala...Y'day I had the fortune to have a short-drive of the same...Its so refined & very much improved from the previous ML270CDI...The airmatic suspension & its hight adjustment is a boon for our road & humps...its has a special leather with a form effect...The motor is the same onw comes in S320 CDI...its quite, but S is having more sound reduction materials in it...even though though it was a short drive, I was able to ustand its power...I liked the car vwery well..The White colour & the 19" alloys give more attraction for the beauty....
